About us

Our Mission Guided by the belief in the inherent dignity of all persons, the Pulte Family Charitable Foundation works to meet the basic human needs of the most marginalized members of the human family, including socioeconomically disadvantaged youth; the aged; persons with physical, emotional and mental disabilities; and those with the fewest material resources. In addition to the above, the Foundation seeks to serve religious communities and correlative organizations of Judeo-Christian beliefs. To this end, the Foundation strives to enact through its grantees the Seven Corporal Works of Mercy: feed the hungry, give drink to the thirsty; clothe the naked; care for captives; shelter the homeless; visit the sick, and assist the mourning.

  • Please read this important statement from the Pulte Family Charitable Foundation: The Pulte name represents a legacy in the U.S. homebuilding industry and in the global philanthropic community. Over many decades, the generations of Pulte family members have grown to include the children, and more than three dozen grandchildren and great-grandchildren, of William J. Pulte (1932-2018), the founder of Pulte Homes, PulteGroup and the Pulte Family Charitable Foundation (PFCF). With the expansion of our family and its various business and charitable endeavors, PFCF believes there may be some unfortunate misunderstandings around the companies, organizations, brands and personal initiatives that bear the Pulte name. With this statement, we wish to officially clarify any confusion, most specifically as it relates to the PFCF and any perceived association with Bill Pulte, Twitter Philanthropist and CEO of Pulte Capital Partners. First and foremost, it is important to note that the PFCF bears no ill will towards Bill Pulte. We recognize and respect his place as one of William Pulte’s 25 grandchildren, and we acknowledge his right to use his own name in his own personal, business and philanthropic initiatives, including his multiple social media accounts, as long as such use does not cause confusion with PFCF. However, the PFCF believes that some of Bill Pulte’s public communications may have created confusion between our organization and his endeavors. We want to be clear that Bill Pulte is not a representative of, nor has he ever served in any capacity for, the PFCF. Likewise, we are not affiliated with Bill Pulte's efforts through Twitter philanthropy, nor his other business or personal initiatives. We additionally believe that some of Bill Pulte’s public communications through social media, public appearances, interviews, self-published articles and more may suggest that he speaks on behalf of the entire Pulte family. To the contrary, Bill Pulte does not represent, nor is he a spokesperson for, all members of the Pulte family, in any capacity. Again, our intent with this statement is to clarify the important distinction between the PFCF and Bill Pulte's personal pursuits. We seek to ensure that the PFCF’s voice is accurately represented and to resolve any confusion around these matters. Moving forward, the PFCF remains committed to upholding our founder's values of honor, integrity and charity. • St. Nicholas Episcopal Church’s ministry statement emphasizes reaching beyond the sanctuary walls to provide hot meals for those experiencing homelessness and food insecurity. In 2016, they launched The Holy Grill mobile feeding ministry, utilizing a licensed pull-behind food trailer. Since then, they have served approximately 60,000 hot meals to those in need. In late 2023, they expanded their efforts to support food-insecure families with children and plan to continue growing their reach in the coming years. The Pulte Family Charitable Foundation is proud to support organizations like St. Nicholas in their mission to alleviate hunger and make a meaningful impact in the community. #TouchingHearts #ChangingLives #PFCF

  • Tony is an inmate at the West Correctional Facility in northwest Indiana. He relocated from a facility closer to his family to pursue this opportunity. “I’ve been locked up most of my life, but my daughter and son are coming to see me graduate. It’s changed the story of my life,” he shared. Another inmate from the same facility mentioned, “A lot of doors are closed to us, but this opens some up.” The Moreau College Initiative (MCI) is a collaboration between Holy Cross College and Notre Dame, in partnership with the Indiana Department of Correction. It provides select incarcerated men with the opportunity to earn credits toward an Associate of Arts degree from Holy Cross. Launched in 2012 as a pilot program with 15 students and nearly 40 faculty members, MCI has grown significantly. The Pulte Family Charitable Foundation is honored to offer a $250,000 matching gift to the Initiative, aiming to build a $1 million endowment. • Today, we celebrate World Peace Day. William J. Pulte dedicated his life to promoting world peace, driven by a belief in the inherent dignity of all people. He embraced the power of prayer to transform the world for the better. In 2021, the World Peace Plaza was established west of the Grotto on Saint Mary’s Lake at the University of Notre Dame. This outdoor sanctuary features a water feature and the World Peace Prayer inscribed in six languages. Crafted with Bill and leaders from eight major faith traditions, the prayer reflects a shared vision for a more peaceful world. The World Peace Prayer reads: “Dear God, thank you for all creation. In the spirit of Jesus of Nazareth and all teachers of peace who inspire the many faith traditions, help me, and all the people of the world, learn how to replace hate, war, oppression, and division with love, peace, freedom, and reconciliation. Help me to embody Your love in my relationship with my family and friends, strangers – even my enemies. I commit myself to this sacred task throughout my life. Let it be.” #PFCF #Touchinghearts #Changinglives #WorldPeaceDay

  • Hope is the confidence in a positive outcome, a vision for a brighter tomorrow, and the ability to imagine a better life. Miami Rescue Mission embodies this hope by supporting 10,000 unhoused individuals in Miami, FL, every night. During our visit earlier this month, we learned about the various ways they serve people in their community. They offer: • Essential Services: Providing food, shelter, clothing, substance abuse treatment, education, job placement, healthcare, and spiritual development. • Recovery Program: Offering counseling and adult education to support individuals on their path to recovery. • Spiritual Support: Conducting Bible studies that introduce Judeo-Christian principles to empower participants on their journey. We proudly support their mission to alleviate homelessness and bring hope to those in South Florida. #TouchingHearts #ChangingLives #Unhoused #EndHomelessness #Community
