The Harmful Cost of Code Switching For many Black people , code-switching is a necessary tool for navigating predominantly white spaces. However, suppressing one's true self, thoughts, and behaviors to fit in can have a profound impact on mental well-being. The constant pressure to conform can lead to exhaustion, anxiety, and a sense of inauthenticity. It also perpetuates the dominance of certain cultural norms, leaving little room for diverse perspectives and experiences. Let's work towards creating workplaces and communities where everyone feels safe to show up as their full selves, without the need to code-switch. How are you creating space in the workplace for others to show up (more) authentically? #DiversityAndInclusion #MentalHealth #Authenticity #CodeSwitching #Belonging #BlackMentalHealth #PureSpark
