As the Pacific Northwest University of Health Sciences School of Dental Medicine continues on its development journey, certain milestones are critical to our success—submission of our accreditation application, the accreditation site visit, and completing construction on Delta Dental of Washington Equity Hall. Yesterday was one of those days, as we hosted our first admissions day on campus.
It was exciting to bring a group of highly qualified applicants to campus and allow them to spend the day with us. A lot of planning and preparation went into making the day a success - and while many on the team contributed, I wanted to call out these three amazing SDM team members - Monica M. Santillanes-Sanchez, Lolinda Turner, and Julia Orr - for it was through their hard work, attention to detail and passion for our school that the day was such a success.
A well-executed admissions day allows not only our program to meet candidates but also allows the candidates to meet us. While on campus, they are evaluating us, our program, and our culture as much, if not more, than we are them as potential dental students. Yesterday was not only a home run, but it went out of the stadium!
My thanks to the entire SDM team, the admissions committee, Derrick from the sim team (he sure loves the VR simulator!), and T'Erra Felder from our PNWU admissions office for their efforts in kicking off what will surely be a hugely successful admissions cycle.
