Our company is looking to hire a Life Cycle Engineer following the job description provided below. This is a remote work position. The deadline for submitting an application is 15 November 2024. The Life Cycle Engineer will conduct research and analysis on client projects that includes life cycle assessment (LCA) modeling and analysis, financial analysis, and market surveys of technologies, policies, regulations, and investments in the areas of sustainability science, circular economy, clean energy, and ESG. The Life Cycle Engineer will also carry out research that contributes to new business development and communication materials for the company’s website and social media. The candidate must be a Thai citizen, fluent in Thai (reading, speaking, writing) and has working proficiency in the English language. We are proud to announce that our very own life cycle engineer So Pyay has now moved on to the next stage of his career as a PhD researcher at the University of Twente in the #Netherlands. He will be pursuing #LCA research as part of project focused on in “Economic Life Cycle Costing and Life Cycle Sustainability Assessment of Hydropower." So Pyay has been a valuable member of our team and we very happy for this new opportunity. Check out the slides below that celebrates and pays homage to So Pyay and his service to our organization.

This year we are working with SD39 to support WWF Thailand conduct a study to assess the best practices, policy gaps, and future directions for The Plastics Smart Cities Program in Thailand which has been taking place between 2021-2024 in four cities in southern Thailand: Surat Thani, Koh Samui, Songkhla, and Hat Yai. Last week we conducted a 3-day workshop that brought together 60 people from the 4 cities to discuss and exchange experiences on what works and does not work in each of the different activities (community waste banks, plastic free schools, upgrading local recycling facilities, integration of informal sector, exploring solutions for low-value plastics, corporate take-back program, Plastic ACTion (PACT) targeting plastic reduction in business, promoting alternative materials, awareness and behavioral change campaign). We had great leadership by our very own Worabhorn (Vee) Pathanatecha in planning and running this workshop to both benefit our study and the needs of the participants.

Our team presented at the 9th International Conference on Green and Sustainable Innovation (ICGSI) 2024 yesterday and today in #Bangkok. We were happy to share key insights from our research work over the past year covering the following topics. 1. Power generation: Small modular nuclear reactors in Southeast Asia, presented by So Pyay, in collaboration with the Norwegian Institute of International Affairs (NUPI). 2. Plastics: Review and evaluation of mandatory and voluntary measures to reduce plastics in ASEAN, presented by Worabhorn (Vee) Pathanatecha, in collaboration with Yunus Thailand. 3. Circular business models: Reusable glass bottled water service in Vietnam, presented by Piya Kerdlap, Ph.D., in collaboration with Glassia Water and Evergreen Labs. We appreciate the support from our partner organizations in allowing us to conduct this research and share the findings with an academic community.

We are proud of our very own Zwe Yin Phyu for her recent publication of her master's degree research in the Journal of Cleaner Production. Her research covered landfill mining of refuse-derived fuel (RDF) from legacy waste (already in the landfill, not fresh waste). This data is useful for those who need data to represent a process that takes place in #Thailand.

This past Monday our Life Cycle Engineer So Pyay spoke at the 11th Social Business Academia Conference about "Guiding Responsible Business Practices Through Life Cycle Thinking." The conference was hosted at Asian Institute of Technology and welcomed the world-renowned social entrepreneur and "banker to the poor" Professor Muhammad Yunus himself! Thank you to the Yunus Center AIT and Yunus Thailand for giving us the opportunity to contribute to this event.

Last week our team had the pleasure of providing a #training about #sustainability and #ESG at Mazars New Managers Development Program.
