When you create something, it literally becomes your baby. Much like artist with their music and painters with their art. This is what the QKD is for me as I constantly feel a need somehow to defend it. But I've learned over time through designing quantum software and hardware technologies for various solutions is that no defense of our interpretation of our quantum key distribution is necessary. As quantum science remains a bit misunderstood, I simply equate it to using the wrong brush on the right medium or the great lyrics on a weak frequency.
But I’ll speak to it anyway.(On behalf of EVE.)
The Quantum Key Distribution is the most critical technology for advancing the benefits of quantum solutions and a secure architectural platform for its delivery. I think many of the current research challenges exist in the approach in that it lacks the sound and orderly development of the quantum software, its source codes and relevant algorithms. Given, on the onset, security of issues will remain for components related to cloud, network and device implementation on the back end due to lack software interconnectivity and its effective integration of the hardware side. Current, we still lack a bit of development on the quantum hardware side, and that’s only amplified by a yet to be implemented successful quantum software approach.
But given the current lack advancement still has great potential with a resourceful hardware hybridization strategy.

I don't think we were quite prepared for the rapid influx of quantum information in legacy technologies or the risk and need for a completeness regarding its computational abilities. But even as its challenges also highlights its benefits for speed performance and increased storage capacity, the validation of these benefits demonstrates that progress is still on the ballot.
But these initial challenges for advancement in quantum only represent the beginning, as the collection of various supporting information technologies like electrification, 6G telecommunication, and IOT connectivity are required. There is where Energy is the Big focus. And so, for us, it’s not ironic that these answers lie directly in the software development for continued progress.
Additionally, much of the development around quantum and its supportive information technologies needed for its success are still in its infancy and the “pioneering effect” for these innovations are heighten for the demand.
For me, this is what makes the QKD far more important than any speculation of EVE needing to eavesdrop on Alice and Bob, because without a doubt she has far more work to do.
