Polars is quickly gaining traction in the Data Science and Data Engineering communities. You’ll often hear the phrase, “Came for the speed, stayed for the syntax,” when asking someone why they’re drawn to Polars. Marco Gorelli, a Senior Software Engineer at Quansight Labs and a core contributor to Polars, has become a familiar face on various podcasts, sharing insights about Polars and Narwhals. Recently, Marco delivered an insightful talk at PyData Amsterdam 2024 titled "Understanding Polars Expressions When You're Used to Pandas." Having watched some of his other talks, I can confidently say that Marco’s enthusiasm for Polars is contagious—it’s hard not to stay engaged! If you’re curious about Polars and how it compares to pandas, I recommend checking out his PyData Amsterdam talk here: https://lnkd.in/ggmzY4e9 Polars is sweeping through the data world, and many practitioners are eager to try it out. But be prepared for a bit of a learning curve—Polars introduces some concepts that may be unfamiliar to pandas users. This talk dives deep into Polars expressions, showing you how to understand them from a pandas perspective. #Pyhon #Polars #Pandas #PyData #PyDataAmsterdam
