Proteins, through their diversity, are vital determinants of phenotype and function. Humans possess potentially millions of protein variants (proteoforms), derived through mechanisms including post-translational modifications. This has made protein sequencing more complicated than gene sequencing—something that Next-Generation Protein Sequencing™ (NGPS) is beginning to address. NGPS enhances and accelerates protein and proteoform characterization, allowing researchers to address key research questions with more precision. This paves the way for new insights and discoveries, as well as the development of novel therapeutic approaches. That's a wrap! At #HUPO2024, we were inspired by the groundbreaking conversations and innovations that continue to shape the future of proteomics. If you missed the chance to catch our poster sessions, don't worry—there’s still time to dive into the science! Gloria Sheynkman presented her work on how Next-Generation Protein Sequencing™ Resolves Peptide Variants Derived from Tropomyosin Proteoforms. Her poster is now live on our website here: https://lnkd.in/gTYP2cCn John Kudolo showcased how Quantum-Si’s Next-Generation Protein Sequencer™ Enables Protein Detection and Peptide Characterization from Biological Samples.
