In yesterday’s special address at FinovateFall, Andreas F., Director of Finance Solutions at Qubika, spoke about the significant evolution that AI is driving in financial services. Andreas took his engaged audience through first-generation rules-based systems to more adaptable, second-generation machine learning algorithms and introduced the dawn of a third generation, where generative AI-augmented transaction data is integrated with machine learning models. The key advice Andreas shared was the importance of understanding the role of data scientists in first building, and then maintaining, AI models. The mathematical framework of these models may or may not at first yield accurate results, and it's the responsibility of data scientists to rigorously test, validate, and continuously refine them to ensure optimal performance in real-world scenarios. When you use an app, you expect it to be fast, responsive, and smooth. If it has performance issues, such as slow rendering or unnecessary re-renders, people may experience lag, slow load times, or even app crashes. This was the situation that one business found itself in, and that led to them contacting Qubika’s App Solutions Studio for help. Through code analysis and performance testing, our team identified the bottlenecks and proposed solutions including refactoring components, optimizing state management, and improving data persistence. These improvements led to a 20% increase in overall performance in every tested scenario and a significantly smoother user experience. In our latest article, Cecilia Domingo, senior mobile developer at Qubika, outlines the process we took. Her takeaways include: 👉 Code analysis and performance testing are crucial. These steps help identify the root causes of performance issues, enabling targeted optimizations. 👉 Refactoring and state management optimization are key. One of the key takeaways from his talk was that the businesses that are achieving success with AI are those that are building AI solutions in a smart and secure way - rather than rushing to do quick, poorly thought-out POCs.
