S1 E7 We all hate when someone hits “reply all” on an email that doesn’t need to go to everyone, right? Before you hit apply, you need to know what you are looking for. When thinking about your ideal role, the opportunity that will carry you to the next phase of your career, what does that look like? Ask yourself these questions: -         What setting am I comfortable with? Do I need remote, or can I be flexible with Hybrid? -         What size company suits your goals? Do you want to help build a company up? Are you more interested in an established company? -         Where does individual growth land on your list of priorities? -         Are you interested in leading a team, or being an individual contributor? -         What learning opportunities are available in this role? Will you add new skills to your repertoire? Knowing the answers to these questions will guide your job search and help you apply with intentionality. Share some of your top priorities when on the job hunt! ⤵ Don’t hit APPLY to ALL the roles. And keep track of what you apply to!! Apply to roles one step below and one step above – but only if you are truly qualified for the role. Don’t apply to a role in Washington if you aren’t willing to move to Washington.

S1 E4 So, there’s a job for you out there…. But how do you find it? 1️⃣ Determine what makes you tick. What makes you excel? If you’re an introvert, you might not want to be in sales. 2️⃣ Shortlist your industries and potential companies, or company types.              👉 Consumer Goods              👉 Information Technology              👉 Finance 3️⃣ Job sites and recruiters ➡ be open to job sites outside of LinkedIn and be willing to entertain a recruiter! 4️⃣ Networking like it’s your job ➡ Connect with others in your space. Connect with people at a company you’d like to work with. Reach out to your connections and start conversations. You never know when a recommendation might be the ticket to an interview.

What is your time waster? For me waiting for inspiration is what keeps me from starting. I wait for the perfect idea or the right spark to get me going. But what I’ve learned is that waiting for that moment often keeps me stuck. It’s easy to lose time hoping for inspiration to hit, but the truth is, progress happens when you take action—whether you feel ready or not. I’ve found that most of the time, once I start, the motivation will follow. Whether it's waiting for inspiration, or anything else on this list, these habits can silently kill your productivity and even your mental well-being. Overcoming them requires self-awareness and intentional action. It's time to let go of these time traps so you can focus on what truly matters.
