Quorum’s unique high-throughput platform allows us to move FAST. We’re growing the team to make full use of it’s capabilities, and are excited to welcome Lisa Kalkbrenner and Marco Allemann, Ph.D. to our NYC-based synthetic biology lab. Lisa joins us with 6 years of experience in Ag biotech R&D, including at Bayer Crop Science, Benson Hill, and Peko. Marco has been doing synthetic biology for over a decade at UCSD, Oak Ridge National Lab, and Algenesis Materials, and has published 6 first-author papers with more on the way. Quorum Bio just leveled up!

We are excited to promote our very first hire, Dr. Felix Ekness, to Director of R&D at Quorum Bio. Felix has played an integral role in our efforts to bring the latest microbial synthetic biology tools to the fertilizer industry, so farmers can increase their profits and reduce their environmental impact. Over the past year, we’ve come to know Felix to be a brilliant synthetic biologist, tamer of robots, creative artist of scientific graphs and schemes, and optimistic personality. We only ask that he please reduce the number of dad jokes. Congratulations Felix. We look forward to building Quorum together and we’re honored you’ve chosen to make your mark on the climate crisis with us.

Happy Friday! We're still accepting applications for our Ph.D. level metabolic engineering scientist in New York City to develop the SynBio-powered climate-smart fertilizers of the future. It's a unique experience and career boosting opportunity to be one of the first few employees of a company, and there's a special type of person that excels in this role. Could it be you?

To have been selected by farmers themselves, means everything to us. Thank you AgLaunch for your support!
Quorum Bio is another exciting addition to our 2024 AgLaunch365 cohort! Quorum Bio is engineering the next generation of microbial bio-fertilizers using their novel gene-editing platform. Quorum's first product enhances nutrient availability in soil, so growers can achieve better seed vigor and crop yield with less fertilizer.

Sharing our CEO's post, who also controls this LinkedIn page 😂
Super cool to be interviewed by AZoLifeSciences - The A to Z of Life Sciences about what we're building at Quorum Bio. I hope one message comes through: we are NOT a sustainable farming startup, we are a FARMER LIVELIHOOD and SUSTAINABLE FARMING TOOL DEVELOPMENT startup. Our mission is to use cutting-edge synthetic biology to create tools that farmers will happily use to improve the profitability and sustainability of their operations. We begin by helping farmers get more value of out their phosphate fertilizer. Most people don't know why this distinction is so important (I didn't either until I spent time with farmers). When you look at the economics of farming, the personal sacrifices that farmers make to provide for the world, it makes sense...
