Base Camp Set. Nashville in Sight. The Final Frontier! After a journey that would make Indiana Jones proud, we’ve finally made it to the outskirts of Nashville. The skyline’s in view, base camp is set up, and we’re gearing up for Staffing World 2024. Sam’s taking things seriously, he’s leading a “staffing meditation” session, trying to channel success by having us chant “Booth #1115” while facing the skyline. Is it working? Hard to say. But he swears by it. Mark’s on “recon” duty, using binoculars and a spreadsheet to track down Nashville’s top BBQ joints. This man’s dedication to multitasking is truly something to behold, he’s got a whole “BBQ-to-Booth” strategy mapped out. And me? I’ve drawn up a 47-point action plan for how we’re going to take Staffing World by storm. Step one: figure out how to pitch a tent without needing to call tech support. Step two: convince Sam that chanting “Booth #1115” isn’t a marketing strategy. By step four, I’ve got us launching a satellite... I may have gone too far. On October 22, we’ll be ready to deliver, whether it’s groundbreaking strategies or survival tips from the wild. Booth #1115, where the adventure begins. #StaffingWorld2024 #Booth1115 #BaseCampNashville #StaffingMeditation #BBQRecon #NashvilleOrBust #AmericanStaffingAssociation

Next stop: Staffing World 2024! As Sam, Mark, and I make our way to Nashville, we’ve been on quite the ride. Sam’s been telling everyone within earshot that “this isn’t his first rodeo” (he’s told the conductor twice), while Mark’s been trying to lasso the snack cart like it’s his next big acquisition. And me? Well, I’ve spilled my coffee three times, gotten lost twice, and somehow managed to start a heated debate over whether cowboy hats count as business formal. For the record, Sam insists they’re appropriate anywhere, even in boardrooms. I guess it depends on whether the meeting is in Nashville or New York. At booth #1115, we’ll be sharing real staffing insights, assuming we’re still allowed in after Mark’s latest attempt to lasso something and Sam’s insistence that, if you squint hard enough, everything is a rodeo. And yes, I’ll do my best to keep my coffee far, far away from any keyboards this time. Whether you’re looking to sell, expand, or just see how long it takes before one of us gets thrown off this train, we’re ready to help. Hop on board and join us for the ride, just follow the trail of snacks, spilled coffee, and cowboy hats. See you soon, partners! #StaffingWorld2024 #Booth1115 #RACohenConsulting #NashvilleOrBust #AmericanStaffingAssociation

    California bill AB 2741 defeated.

AB 2741 news from American Staffing Association !! On behalf of thousands of us in the staffing industry: thank you ASA, the Government Relations team, the countless volunteers and industry stakeholders who collectively lobbied against this bill and showed us how great industry associations work. ASA advocacy has secured a major win for the staffing industry! California's ominous AB 2741 bill, aimed solely at the staffing industry, has been soundly defeated. This bill posed unprecedented challenges, threatening staffing firms and their clients with burdensome obligations and prohibitions including: * Bill Rate Disclosure: Mandating detailed disclosure of bill rates on employee wage statements. * Ban on Conversion Fees: Prohibiting staffing firms from charging placement fees for permanent work placements. * First Offer for Permanent Positions: Requiring clients to offer permanent positions to temporary workers before filling them externally. Thanks to our collective efforts, we've averted this crisis. But the fight isn't over yet. At the upcoming Staffing Law & Compliance Conference, we'll dive deeper into legislative challenges facing our industry and arm you with strategies to navigate compliance complexities effectively. #staffingindustry #employmentlaw #CaliforniaAB2741
