Speed increases the risk of fatality significantly — rising from just 10% at 23 mph to 90% at 58 mph. Faster speeds also reduce a driver’s reaction time to pedestrians. Radarsign’s speed monitoring solutions alert drivers to help manage speed and improve safety on our roads. Let’s work together to slow speeding drivers and keep our streets safe. #SpeedSafety #PedestrianSafety #RoadSafety #DriveSafe

Roads are busier now that school's back in session. On most roads, bicyclists have the same rights and responsibilities as vehicles, but can be hard to see. The most common cause of collision is a driver turning left in front of a bicycle. For drivers: - Proceed slowly when passing a bicycle -- leave 3 feet between your car and the bike - Always use turn signals - When turning, yield right of way to the bike (let the bike pass first) -- check side mirrors - Watch for bikes turning in front of you without looking or signaling -- children especially have a tendency to do this - Be extra vigilant in school zones and neighborhoods - Watch for bikes coming from driveways or from behind parked cars - Check side mirrors before opening your door Cyclists have safety responsibilities, too: - Always wear a helmet - Use hand signals -- let drivers know when you're stoppping and turning - Follow traffic rules -- stop at stop signs and red lights, and obey traffic signals - Stay visible -- use lights and reflective gear, especially when riding in low light conditions like early morning or dusk - Watch for doors -- use caution when passing parked or stopped cars to avoid getting "doored" Spread the word and share these tips to raise awareness #BiketoSchool #SchoolZone #BikeSafety #BacktoSchool2024

Back to school alert As the new school year gets underway -- and traffic picks up -- let's focus on our traffic and road safety responsibilities. School buses unloading, bikers and walkers hurrying to beat the first bell, and parents dropping off kids all mean it's important to slow down and pay attention. If you're dropping off: - Slow down in school zones -- kids might be excited, but aren't always cautious - Don't double park -- it blocks visibility for students and vehicles - Watch for school buses -- and always stop when the red lights are flashing - Don't load or unload students across the street from the school - Carpool when you can, to reduce the number of vehicles at the school - Model good behavior -- phones off, seatbelts on Let's make it a safe year for everyone! Share these tips and help spread the word. #BacktoSchool2024 #SchoolZone #Radarsign #ProtectOurKids #SafeNeighborhoods

The Labor Day weekend has long been considered one of the deadliest few days on US roadways. Each year, the @national-safety-council estimates how many Americans might lose their lives during this time. These estimates represent deaths and injuries that don’t have to occur. Each one is preventable. Help make our roads safer this Labor Day by: - Practicing defensive driving - Buckling up - Designating a sober driver or arranging for alternate transportation In addition, get plenty of sleep so you aren't fatigued, drive attentively, and avoid distractions -- phones off. All of us at Radarsign want you to enjoy your time off safely. #LaborDay2024 #Radarsign #SafeDriving

More than 46,000 lives were lost in motor vehicle crashes in 2022. Compared to pre-pandemic 2019, the mileage death rate increased nearly 22%. Our roads are now more dangerous than they’ve been in 17 years. Let's prioritize safety and work together to bring these numbers down. #RoadSafety #TrafficSafety #SaveLives @NationalSafetyCouncil
