Never drive under the influence. In 2021, alcohol-impaired driving was a factor in 31% of all fatal crashes, with drivers exceeding the legal blood alcohol limit of .08 g/dL. Let’s make a pledge to drive sober and keep our roads safe. #DriveSober #TrafficSafety #RoadSafety #ZeroTolerance

During Pedestrian Safety Month (October), we're focused on our youngest pedestrians as they travel to and from school. This awareness is important to share because more than 7,300 pedestrians were killed in traffic crashes in 2021 -- the most since 1981. According to the @National Safety Council, most of the children who lose their lives in bus-related incidents are 4 to 7 years old, and they're walking. They are hit by a bus or motorist illegally passing a stopped bus. A few precautions go a long way toward keeping children safe. - Don't block the crosswalk when stopped at a red light or waiting to turn. This forces pedestrians to go around you, which could put them in the path of moving traffic - In a school zone when flashers are blinking, stop and yield to pedestrians in the crosswalk or intersection - Always stop for a school patrol officer or crossing guard holding a stop sign - Take extra care to look for students in school zones, near playgrounds and parks, and in residential areas - Don't honk or rev your engine to scare a pedestrian, even if you have the right of way. - Never pass a vehicle stopped for pedestrians #PedestrianSafetyMonth #SchoolZone #Radarsign #BacktoSchool2024

Back to school isn’t just for K-12, it means college campuses all across the country, as well. Georgia Tech, in the heart of downtown Atlanta, sees 60,000 people move through its campus each day – about twice the student population. Campus police are using Radarsign driver speed signs to slow campus traffic, as well as our Cloud and Streetsmart software to evaluate speed trends. The goal is to reduce driver speeds across campus and make campus roads safe for everyone. #BacktoCampus #Universities #RadarsignSmart #DataDriven #StudentSafety #CampusSafety #GeorgiaTech
