Visit gaza.online to directly keep a family connected. I moved to Gaza in 2015. My colleagues and I helped ambitious entrepreneurs use digital technologies to overcome what, at that point, was already a decade of physical blockade. As Gaza’s digital infrastructure went dark, I sent virtual SIM cards to friends to roam on the non-Palestinian networks around them. That initiative hsa become a global volunteer effort. We rely on individual in-kind donations of eSIM activation codes and quickly match them with families in Gaza through Whatsapp. Certain eSIMs only work in certain parts of Gaza depending on network strength. To match the right eSIM to someone’s circumstances, we have volunteers working 24/7 to provide activation and troubleshooting support to recipients. As of today, we have a website to help us facilitate connections, troubleshoot inquiries, and accept monetary donations, 100% of which will be used to purchase and distribute eSIMs. When eSIMs are no longer needed in Gaza, any remaining funds will be donated to Gaza Sky Geeks.
