October is National Disability Employment Awareness Month (NDEAM), and we’re spotlighting one of our superstar team members.    Anastasia – she goes by Stassi for short – has worked at our Woodland store for over a year. She came to us through Yolo Employment Services, a local organization that provides job training and services for individuals with disabilities. Stassi does an amazing job for us and has quickly become a fan favorite among our customers and her fellow employees.    “My favorite part about working for Raley's is the people,” she says. “The employees and the customers are always very nice! Food For Families is working to alleviate hunger in our local communities year-round, but Hunger Action Month reminds us that we can always do a little more. As kids throughout our region prepare to return to school, we want to thank Volunteers of America Northern California and Northern Nevada for all the great work they are doing for our communities.   Their Operation Backpack program provided brand new backpacks, filled with age-appropriate supplies, to over 4,500 students for this school year. For kids impacted by homelessness, poverty and living in the foster care system, having the right tools gives them the confidence and courage to succeed in school. We are so proud to support VOA and their impactful work.   And don’t forget - the Raley’s Extra Credit grant cycle is open for about one more week. Applications close on 8/31. Extra Credit grants reward accredited K-12 academic institutions (public, charter and private) and non-profits with funds for programs that promote nutrition education, teach food literacy, encourage physical activity and more.
