  • Ramsfield Hospitality Finance (“RHF”) and funds managed by AB CarVal have teamed up to provide a $230 million acquisition loan secured by the Thompson Central Park located in New York, NY. The loan financed Gencom’s first acquisition in New York City as they continue growing their portfolio of luxury hotels and resorts. The RHF and AB CarVal partnership has now completed $3.75 billion of hotel debt and equity investments together throughout the US. The Thompson offers 587 guestrooms and over 4,500 square feet of meeting space, a 6,500 square foot Exhale Spa, and multiple food and beverage outlets including the iconic Burger Joint. Previously The Parker, the hotel underwent a $100 million renovation becoming a flagship property for the Thompson brand which has 19 locations globally. The 42-story tower offers excellent views of Manhattan and Central Park which is a brief walk north of the property. The RHF and AB CarVal partnership has now completed eight hotel investments in New York City since 2021, totaling close to $730 million and nearly 2,300 rooms. Despite macroeconomic and capital market headwinds, the partnership remains active in the hospitality lending space throughout the country, with a strong appetite and ability to close more transactions.
