As the end of CA Water Professionals Appreciation Week approaches, we still have a few departments to spotlight! When talking about top-notch water pros, you cannot forget our team in wastewater operations! They are in charge of the Santa Rosa Water Reclamation Facility, where all the things that travel down your drains and pipes come to rest  (remember that when Finding Nemo tells you all pipes lead to the ocean...definitely NOT the case!). Our wastewater team works around the clock to manage reclaimed water, keep our pipes flowing, and turn it into environmentally friendly, recycled water! Our engineers are an integral part of our district, with skills and responsibilities that every person who uses running water relies upon. They use their talents and expansive education to plan, design, and oversee specialized projects aimed at enhancing water, wastewater, and recycled water facilities. Their knowledge of water infrastructure is essential as they review and evaluate a diverse range of projects, including planning studies, selection and design of water treatment technologies, and asset management initiatives. With stringent water quality requirements, endless data to analyze, and the District's 970 miles of water main lines & 43+ active groundwater wells to maintain, being a water operations professional is never dull!  The hard-working team members in our Operations department are essential to keeping our water clean & flowing reliably.
