“For them, being depressed, being anxious is a luxury because that’s something they didn’t have. They don’t understand why you’re sad in a country where you have food, where you have a roof over your head, where you have everything you could ever want.” But recent statistics show that suicide rates for Hispanic people in the United States have climbed dramatically in the past decade. They rose 39% from 2011 to 2022 while suicides overall climbed by 16% nationwide, according to an analysis by KFF, a nonprofit health policy research organization. https://lnkd.in/eDwxaCx4

Hope Starter
About us
Like to work with your heart? We are hope starters. We spark hope in our community by providing education, treatment, and recovery services to individuals affected by behavioral health or developmental issues. We serve more than 25,000 people each year. Helping others reclaim their lives and build hope is a complex process--and it requires a strong support system. At RACSB, you will help a young mother overcome addiction, a toddler take their first steps, or a teenager manage depression--whether you personally see these individuals or not. The people who navigate insurance payments, licensing requirements, and payroll systems are just as critical as those providing direct services. So no matter what your skills and passions, there's a place for you on our hope-starting team.

Here's a great reminder of the importance of taking breaks throughout the day.
Spending hours at our desks can be a danger to our mental health. So ahead of World Mental Health Day on 10 October, we’ve enlisted Brian Cox to play the role of the ‘World’s Scariest Boss’ in a Public Service Announcement for office workers. Research shows our mental state starts to decline after only two hours of continuous desk-based working and stress levels rise significantly after four hours. But the good news is that just 15 minutes of physical activity can help to reverse the effects. So we’re encouraging those who can, to take a Desk Break to move your mind.
