Yesterday, we honored the history and culture of Indigenous Peoples by donating to the Native American Health Center. The Native American Health Center is a nonprofit in the Bay Area dedicated to improving the health and wellbeing of California’s Native Population and other underserved communities – a meaningful cause that aligns with our belief in health equity and the importance of accessible healthcare for all. #IndigenousPeoplesDay #Community
Rapport Therapeutics
Biotechnology Research
Precision medicines to match the complexity of the human brain.
About us
Rapport Therapeutics aims to transform the treatment of neurological disorders through a precision medicine approach, precisely targeting disease-driving neurocircuits by leveraging receptor-associated proteins (RAPs). With this approach, Rapport can overcome the well-established limitations of today’s neuromedicines that act indiscriminately throughout the nervous system, resulting in suboptimal efficacy and burdensome side effects. Leading the hunt for precision medicines is a team with established track records of innovation in neuroscience and drug discovery. Rapport was conceptualized and created through a partnership between Third Rock Ventures and Johnson & Johnson Innovation-JJDC, Inc. (JJDC) and launched in March 2023. Rapport is based in San Diego, CA and Boston, MA. For more information, please visit www.rapportrx.com.

Our CEO Abraham (Abe) Ceesay recently connected with Biotech2050 podcast host Rahul Chaturvedi to discuss all things biotech and – of course – Rapport. In the episode, Abe offers a deep dive on his career, what led him to take the helm at Rapport, how the company started, and how we’re working to bring to life a precision medicine approach in CNS and neuro disorders. Abe and Rahul covered a lot of ground, including Abe’s take on how to lead successfully, advice he’d have given his younger self, as well as his thoughts on the many different elements that need to come together to make an early-stage biotech successful. We’re taking a quick break from our everyday hustle for a guided meditation hosted by our very own Swamy Yeleswaram in recognition of World Mental Health Day. Let today serve as a reminder to check in on yourself and others, and to be KIND to YOU! #mentalhealth #worldmentalhealthday #meditation

We love when great ideas come from our people! To get to know each other better – across departments and locations – we’re matching Rapptors up with colleagues they don’t work with regularly. It’s then up to them to coordinate an in-person or virtual meetup over coffee or lunch, whatever works. We’re calling it Jurassic Java and so far, it has been a fun, casual way to bring people together. #jurassicjava #ourrapptors #culture #connections

Don’t miss David Bredt, our founder and CSO, at the SABPA San Diego BioPharma Conference in Del Mar on October 5. He’ll be talking about his journey from academia to developing precision medicines here at Rapport. With hundreds of academic and industry leaders converging at the conference, it’s going to be a great chance to discuss the latest breakthroughs in our field. If you’re in San Diego, we’d love to connect—hope to see you there! #Neuroscience #SanDiegoLifeSciences #DrugDevelopment #Biotechnology

Last week we had the privilege of speaking with Anne Fadiman, the author of The Spirit Catches You and You Fall Down. This complex story explores the cultural clash between Hmong refugees and the American medical system through the story of Lia Lee, a Hmong girl with epilepsy. This was our first read for our newly launched Book Club, and we’re so grateful we had the opportunity to connect with the author. Thank you, Anne for sharing your experience – your compassion was clear and your insight profound. And special shoutout to Allison Little for facilitating such a meaningful conversation. #bookclub #ourrapptors #companyculture

We’re celebrating Hispanic Heritage Month (September 15 – October 15) by shining a dino-mite spotlight on three of our Rapptors. Daniela Moreno is from Manizales, Colombia and is fluent in both Spanish and English. Martha Canto Bustos is from Mérida, Yucatán, Mexico and is known to bake a delicious traditional Pan de Muertos (Mexican Bread of the Dead). Gerardo Marquez was born and raised in the United States with his family origins in Mexico. In addition to tamales, some of Gerardo’s favorite Mexican dishes include birria, posole, and menudo. Thank you Daniela, Martha, and Gerardo for sharing your culture with us! #hispanicheritagemonth #ourrapptors

Stop by to see us today at the Epilepsy Foundation’s 2024 Pipeline Conference in Atlanta, Georgia. Gammaitoni Arnold, our SVP, Medical Affairs, will be there talking about our lead program RAP-219, including our Phase 2a trial in focal epilepsy. 30-40% of people living with epilepsy continue to have seizures despite taking multiple anti-seizure medications. We look forward to connecting at the conference with other trailblazers in the field as we work to change the paradigm for patients. #BostonBiotech #Neuromedicine #Epilepsy

We are beyond excited to share that Rapport was named “Startup-of the Year” at Biotech Week Boston last night! It’s such an honor to be recognized for the efforts and accomplishments of our team as we work to transform the future of neuromedicine. Being among such a vibrant and pioneering life sciences community last night, all working to improve the lives of patients, was a tremendously rewarding and inspiring experience. Check out the picture we took at the event! #Neuromedicine #BostonBiotech #BiotechWeekBoston

With World Gratitude Day approaching this weekend, we want to celebrate and thank our incredible pack of Rapptors for their relentless drive and commitment to showing up and making it count. And with deep appreciation, a very special thank you to patients and their loved ones for their bravery. Pictured here is the full Rapport team alongside Ryan DeLoughry, who spoke to us a few months back about his experience with epilepsy and the brain mapping surgery that resulted in the approval for an RNS implant. #worldgratitudeday #ourpack #gratitude #thankyou
