As I wrap up the last week of my summer internship with Raths, Raths & Johnson, Inc., I want to express gratitude for the invaluable mentorship and significant opportunities I have experienced during the last twelve weeks. During my time at RRJ, highly influential moments of my summer included: • Building enclosure performance analysis under the guidance of experienced architects and engineers • Active involvement in construction projects from beginning stages to near completion • Investigative and hands-on field testing of new and existing structures • Educational experiences regarding preservation of historic structures • And, of course, completing my suspended scaffold training! I am extremely grateful to my mentors, Kyle D. Magnuson, NCARB and Gloria Frank Fite, EIT, CDT, for their guidance and training this summer. Under their direction, I feel that I have grown significantly in my goal of becoming the most technically precise, detail attentive, and solutions-oriented future architect. This fall, I will be continuing in this pursuit as I begin the Master of Architecture program at the University of Illinois. As I progress in my career, I am very grateful for my many experiences and am excited for the future!
