Bottleworks District won a 2024 Urban Land Institute Global Award for Excellence! This award marks an exciting and impactful milestone for the project and for RATIO, earning its first ULI Global Award. Working with Hendricks Commercial Properties, the Bottleworks District is a 12-acre mixed-use development that reimagines a historic Coca-Cola bottling plant in Indianapolis into a vibrant culinary, arts, and entertainment hub. We're excited to share that Bottleworks District is a 2024 Urban Land Institute Global Award for Excellence Winner!

The RATIO-led Graduate Design Studio with the Illinois School of Architecture (ISoA) recently conducted student midterm reviews at our downtown Champaign studio. Led by Nita Christopher and Adam Groth, the day brought a great demonstration of student passion and work with inspiring dialogue about architecture that maximizes the human experience while minimizing carbon impact. Thanks to Danielle Young Brawner and ISoA Professors Rick Strand and Julie Brand Zook for their insightful contributions. Students will now refine and advance their core project for final reviews in December, and we’re looking forward to it! Thank you to Francisco J. Rodríguez-Suárez, FAIA for inviting RATIO to lead the studio this semester.

Great behind-the-scenes video from IIG! The Grand Garnder Hotel is progressing quickly from a school building into a boutique hotel.

The RATIO Design Studio is currently underway, welcoming graduate students from the Illinois School of Architecture to our Champaign studio for hands-on, interdisciplinary design collaboration. Led by Adam Groth and Nita Christopher, the Studio focuses on contextual, community-driven, and practice-based design thinking. This year’s project is driven by a conscious response to sustainability. Guided by the principles of the Living Building Challenge, the Studio is charged with achieving a Net Zero community space that promotes equitable access to wellness, recreation, and educational opportunities. While the MICHELIN Star recognizes the most outstanding restaurants in the world, the MICHELIN Key does the same for outstanding hotels. It is a huge honor to be among the first hotels in the country to receive keys for shaping remarkable experiences for travelers and a nod to the collaborative work of our interdisciplinary design team, our Hospitality Practice, Hendricks Commercial Properties, and Geronimo Hospitality Group.
