Water is essential to every aspect of our lives—from the water we drink to the systems that sustain our communities. A decade ago, the Value of Water Campaign launched Imagine a Day Without Water to raise awareness and build advocacy around the vital importance of water infrastructure. Now, ten years later, the call to action is stronger than ever. At RCAC, we see the impacts of water infrastructure every day through our work supporting rural and Indigenous communities. From ensuring access to clean drinking water through technical assistance to providing funding to ensure reliable and safe water systems, we are committed to strengthening and safeguarding the important resource that sustains us. #ImagineADayWithoutWater For ways to add your drop to the bucket, visit: https://lnkd.in/gTZMAVNf

Happy Birthday CRA! That’s the Community Reinvestment Act, signed into law on October 12, 1977. It puts billions into underserved communities every year! And yet, some of the largest players in the banking industry filed a complaint in federal court to stop the new CRA rules from being implemented. Help us hold banks accountable! Happy Indigenous Peoples’ Day! Today, we honor the rich cultures, histories and contributions of Indigenous peoples across the country. Indigenous communities have long been stewards of the land and water, protecting natural resources for future generations. We are proud to support and partner with these communities to address critical infrastructure needs, ensure access to safe drinking water, provide vital resources through our lending programs and expand the housing supply and skills of tribal housing professionals. This Indigenous Peoples’ Day, we celebrate Indigenous resilience, leadership and wisdom, and reaffirm our commitment to working alongside these communities in the spirit of collaboration and respect.

For World Mental Health Day (Oct 10) and International Day for Disaster Risk Reduction (Oct 13), we're discussing the link between disasters and mental health. Disasters can cause anxiety, depression and long-term trauma, especially for vulnerable groups. Our Community Resilience & Disaster Planning program assists communities in preparing for and recovering from disasters, with a focus on collaboration and resilience. Learn more about how we're supporting emotional well-being and disaster recovery in an article from one of our CRDP team members. #WorldMentalHealthDay #DisasterRiskReduction https://lnkd.in/g8EsvNZ4
