CEO at Rosalynn Carter Institute for Caregivers | Public health leader solving the sector’s biggest challenges
Thank you to Grantmakers In Aging (GIA) for having Rosalynn Carter Institute for Caregivers participate in a plenary at the annual conference last week. As the photo shows, my fellow panelists (Lance Robertson, Mary K. C., and Kristie King) and I enjoyed the spontaneity of a panel on "hot topics" suggested by the audience in a live poll and thoughtfully facilitated by Misha Stallworth West. 📷 credit: J. I've always wondered how a rookie in a professional sport feels in their first big league game. Now I know. Thank you Paurvi B. for your mentorship and for making us feel like we belonged!
We are humbled by the invitation to take part in this beautiful gathering of caregiver centric organizations. We stand on the shoulders of giants who came before us. Giants like Rosalynn Carter and the institute for caregivers she founded 37 years ago. Their vision is a world where all caregivers are seen, heard, and supported. We are delighted that Paurvi B., President and Chief Impact Officer at The Rosalynn Carter Institute for Caregivers, will be joining us as a keynote speaker for the opening session of CaregiverCON on November 2nd in downtown Minneapolis. The agenda and speakers have been published, and there is still time to register the link in the comments!

Energized and excited to share key insights from the Rosalynn Carter Institute for Caregivers Convening: Making the Unseen Seen in Detroit this past week. Some eye-opening statistics: 👩❤️👩 We know 53 million Americans are family (or unpaid) caregivers – people supporting a loved one going through a health journey. That number expands to over 100 million when you add those caring for children. 💼 61% of employees are caregivers: Employers take note! Click my short article below to read on for other key takeaways, quotes and stories. One of my favorites that we all need to focus on and remember. Caregiving is unique. “If you’ve met one caregiver, you’ve met one caregiver.” Read that again... Inspired by the collaborative energy and innovative approaches discussed. CaringBridge is looking forward to putting these insights into action to better support caregivers everywhere. A special thank you to Jennifer Olsen for her leadership the past six years at RCI. First Lady Carter is proud. “Let’s not forget, it’s not if you will be a caregiver, it’s when.” Paurvi B., Lindsay Goldman, Rajeev Ramchand, Lezlie Poole, Moranda Guy, LaCinda J., Maxine Kellman, DVM, PhD, PMP, Tom Chiodo, Ke (Kelly) Wang, Ph.D., Toni Miles, Elizabeth Field, Karen Kavanaugh, Stacey Gordon, Kristie King, Misha Stallworth West, Amber Slichta, Abbey Voelker #familycaregivers #HealthcareInnovation #CommunitySupport

At the Rosalynn Carter Institute for Caregivers (RCI), our mission is to shine a light on the often invisible yet essential role of family caregivers. We’re thrilled to announce the launch of Profiles of Experiences of Caregiving© (Caregiver Profiles), a new framework developed in partnership with Duke University. These profiles capture the diverse and evolving experiences of caregivers, highlighting key phases and stressors to help us design targeted support and resources that meet caregivers' real needs. Caregiver Profiles© aims to provide more tailored, holistic support to the over 105 million people in the United States who are actively engaged in family caregiving.
