RCOE is proud to announce the launch of the Foster Youth Success Initiative, the Riverside County Superintendent’s 5th Initiative, aimed at providing essential support to foster youth in Riverside County. Foster students often face significant challenges in educational performance. In California, only 60% of foster youth graduate from high school, compared to 86% of non-foster youth. The Foster Youth Success Initiative is designed to break down these barriers and ensure safety, stability, and success for these students. Key resources include: • Academic Support • Support for Families • Social and Emotional Support • Stability and Continuity “As educators, we have an obligation to ask ourselves whether we are doing everything we can to support our foster students,” said Riverside County Superintendent of Schools, Edwin Gomez, Ed.D. Let’s work together to pave the way for a brighter future for foster youth! For more tools and resources to support #FosterYouthRivCo, visit https://lnkd.in/gYeqdNbN.
