We can all agree that an Olympic-sized pool is big. Now imagine 12 of them and how much water they can hold. It's roughly 8 million gallons, which is equivalent to this year’s herbicide savings, thanks to John Deere’s See & Spray™ technology. John Deere recently announced that See & Spray™ technology saved farmers an estimated 8 million gallons of herbicide mix on more than 1 million acres during the 2024 growing season. Read more on how you can cut costs and boost sustainability on your farm.

The corn and potatoes that line your plate on Thanksgiving. The smell of freshly baked muffins that reminds you of home. The sweetness of Grandma’s homemade cookies. The pasta used in your family’s secret recipe that's passed down through the generations. Whether it’s an appetizer, dessert or a full meal, it's likely that many of our cherished memories involve food in one way or another. It’s important to remember that behind all of this is a farmer. Someone who is up before the sun, working tirelessly through all seasons to ensure we can continue cultivating memories alongside a meal. While today is National Farmers Day, remember to thank a farmer any chance you have. Happy National Farmers Day.

This year, during the 10th annual Saluting Branches Day of Service, RDO, Rainbow Treecare and many more packed up their equipment and joined forces at Fort Snelling National Cemetery in Minneapolis, Minnesota. But the word partnership extended beyond the collaboration of the teams who were present that day. With boots on the ground and a common goal, the group exemplified that strong partnerships generate even stronger impacts on our communities. “One of RDO’s core values is We Do What We Say. Everybody that has been laid to rest out here, they did what they said they would do. When the volunteer event happens each year, it’s a yes without hesitation,” said Mark R., Vermeer Regional Manager, says as he reflects on the day.

The harvest season is often the busiest time of the year for growers. The mental load from making quick decisions while dealing with many variables can lead to fatigue. To improve overall well-being and reduce the likelihood of increased mental fatigue, even during demanding seasons, here are five things to keep in mind on the farm. 1️⃣ Create transparency when possible. 2️⃣ Develop a communication process. 3️⃣ Adopt a "data growth mindset." 4️⃣ Create a team goal. 5️⃣ Practice self compassion. #WorldMentalHealthDay

You wouldn't typically compare your annual eye exam to agronomic information systems, but oddly enough, there are plenty of similarities between the two. Erin Hightower (CCA), RDO agronomist, tells us that just as regular eye exams present opportunities for improvements, seasonal calls with a trusted agronomist or equipment expert can improve your agronomic vision. Instead of the optometrist asking, “Is one better, or two?” to fine-tune your vision, agronomists help you evaluate your resources and practices to optimize your crop management. But as a grower, this is your conversation to lead, so what questions should you be asking? Here are a few you can review each season to ensure that your agronomic practices are as precise and effective as your vision correction.
