Happy 4th of July from Reeco! Did you know?? 1. The Declaration of Independence was officially adopted on July 4, 1776. However, it wasn't signed until August 2, 1776. 2. The tradition of setting off fireworks on the 4th of July began in 1777, the first anniversary of the Declaration of Independence. 3. Americans consume about 150 million hot dogs on the 4th of July, enough to stretch from Washington D.C. to Los Angeles more than five times. 4. John Adams, one of the Founding Fathers, believed that July 2nd, the day the Continental Congress voted for independence, would be the most celebrated American holiday. He was off by two days! 5. Every 4th of July, the Liberty Bell in Philadelphia is tapped (not actually rung, due to its crack) 13 times in honor of the original 13 colonies. 6. The oldest continuous 4th of July celebration is held in Bristol, Rhode Island, dating back to 1785. 7. Both Thomas Jefferson and John Adams, the only signers of the Declaration of Independence who later became presidents, died on July 4, 1826, exactly 50 years after the adoption of the Declaration. 8. Americans spend over $1 billion on beer and $600 million on wine for their Independence Day celebrations. 9. On the 4th of July, the American flag should be displayed from sunrise to sunset. If displayed at night, it should be properly illuminated. 10. The tune of "The Star-Spangled Banner," the national anthem, was originally a drinking song titled "To Anacreon in Heaven." f

About our host Omri Shalev: "Unlike most hoteliers who have spent many years in hotels and other hospitality businesses, I come from a completely different background. At 15, I lived in Mexico City, where I was first introduced to engineering. Since then, I've been passionate about solving problems through software." After moving between several startups and large companies like Samsung and Microsoft, I decided it was time to create something of my own. Together with my hotelier partner and good friend Henrik Shimony, we co-founded Reeco, a software that helps hospitality businesses integrate AI into their back-of-house operations, helping in purchasing, receiving, recipe management, inventory, and payments to their vendors using the best technology out there.
