**Addressing Critical Worker Shortages** Worker shortages in healthcare and education are at a critical juncture, impacting service delivery and quality of care while leading to frontline worker burnout. With trends like an aging population and increasing demand for specialized education services, these challenges will likely worsen. Here's an overview of the problem and how you can help. U.S. Healthcare Worker Shortages: 🏥 Industry-wide: An estimated two million open and unfilled healthcare jobs in the U.S and an additional two million new healthcare jobs expected by 2031 🚑 EMS: By 2030, at least 40,000 more full-time emergency medical personnel are needed, in addition to an annual turnover rate of 36% for full-time EMTs 👩⚕️ Technician and CNA Shortages: 87% of Hospital CEOs are concerned about technician shortages with nearly seven thousand CNA (Certified Nursing Assistant) roles unfilled in Massachusetts alone U.S. Education Worker Shortages: 🏫 Teachers: The current U.S. teacher shortage includes 55,000 vacant positions and an additional 270,000 teaching posts filled by underqualified teachers 👨🏫 Special Education: 51% of public schools reported needing to fill positions in Special Education before the start of the next school year  🤝 Substitute Teachers: Substitute teacher shortages have increased to a level where 20% of requests for substitutes go unfilled **Why You Can Help** While these select examples don't paint a complete picture, they give a sense of the magnitude of the problem. But, it is possible for you to help in addressing some of these staffing challenges in your community! Some, but not all, of these roles offer: 🔀 Flexible Schedules: Many roles offer flexible working hours, accommodating your current job or other commitments 🚧 Lower Barriers to Entry: Non-degree training is required for some of these roles, making them more accessible  ❤️ Meaningful Impact: These positions have a direct, visible impact on individuals and communities 💵 Paid Positions: These are mainly compensated roles, but some organizations are volunteer-reliant 🆘 Urgent Need: There is a high demand for these open positions to be filled **How You Can Help** You can help address these shortages in several ways. Here are some select examples: 🚑 Support Local EMS Services: Train to be an EMT and apply for part-time positions with your local EMS providers 🏫 Engage with Local School Districts: If you have a passion for education or are comfortable with teaching a particular subject, consider becoming a substitute teacher ➡ Explore Service with Re:Force: If you want help in navigating how you serve your community, consider Re:Force, a “one-stop shop” to help integrate these roles into your busy life Checkout our website for more info and data sources: https://lnkd.in/gjgWk2Ff #FrontlineWorkers #Service #Teachers #EMS #StaffingCrisis #AgingPopulation
