About us

REAL Women in Trucking, Inc. is a 501 (c)(6) national membership organization formed by working women truck drivers. Our Headquarters are located in Lake Worth Beach, Florida, United States. We are focused on raising the low standards in the trucking industry that contribute to high turnover such as unsafe commercial drivers license training, discrimination, sexual misconduct in entry-level driver training fleets, and the lack of safe truck parking.

  • Queen bee syndrome is a derogatory term that describes women in positions of power who treat other women poorly: Behavior Queen bees may exclude other women, treat junior women more harshly than junior men, or refuse to help or mentor other women. They may also make disparaging remarks about other women's abilities or looks. Motivation Queen bees may feel threatened by other women who could potentially take their place. They may also believe that they've earned the right to be in their position and that they don't need to help others. Impact Queen bee syndrome can create barriers for women to succeed in their careers and decrease gender diversity in the workplace. The term was first defined in 1973 by researchers Graham Staines, Carol Tavris, and Toby E. Jayaratne. Message from REAL Women in Trucking, Inc. "Don't be a Queen Bee , it is not cool Know the Difference between being a Queen Bee and bringing authentic valid concerns to the table that require meaningful discussions that are within the realms of the business in order to improve the culture. Trucking has a lot of Queen Bee behavior especially aimed at women truck drivers by non driving Women in Trucking and their "agents". We at REAL Women in Trucking have created a close knit group that has each others backs. We put forth the effort it takes to weed out those who are just attention seekers to keep the highest quality human beings we can identify to illustrate that you don't need to turn your nose up and turn your back on women who just want a little recognition too and need some help. We work with anyone or any group that wishes to be authentic. Our doors are always open if you have the right stuff. Kindness & compassion. • 25 Years After the Murder of Jason Rivenburg when the ATA would not step up to help his young widow Hope get @jasonslaw passed , 35 years after @TRUCKINGdotORG knew there was critical #truckparking shortage , 11 years since the ATA didn't want us calling out shippers and receivers by name that run #truckdrivers out of hours but won't let them stay parked onsite where it makes more sense ( some who happened to be ATA corporate sponsors) they have finally put forth meaningful effort to get funding for truck parking. Funding that was cut out of the original "Jason's Law" bill version to get it passed. While we are glad to see them finally doing something they should have led on 35 years ago, let's be clear, they have strings attached, they want ALSO lower standards in truck driver training and more money from taxpayers to do it. They want no accountability for the nearly 200% turnover rate in entry level driver training where rape and sexual misconduct is rampant. This is another genius PR stunt brought to you by ATA Corporate Lobbyists to get what they want and repackaging something they should have done decades ago. The federal government and states having to use taxpayer money for truck parking has come mostly as a result of the ATA not wanting to call out shippers and receivers that are bad actors. Truck Drivers who are employees that are not reimbursed for paid truck parking by their company should be called out by the ATA as well. We would like more people to pay attention to what is going on here before they just jump on the rah-rah bandwagon. #Trucking #TruckParking #TruckDrivers #Congress #Senate #Politics #Transportation #Equity #SupplyChain

⚠️A danger to the public. ⚠️A drag on our supply chain. ⚠️A detriment to truckers' wellbeing. The severe shortage of truck parking creates countless problems. Fortunately, there are solutions. Congress, it's long-past time to provide dedicated funding to expand truck parking!

  • It is with great sadness we are announcing that Cheryl Lynn Ibana Bean - Founder of Ladies of Hawaii Truckin and 2018 Queen of the Road Award Recipient has passed away. Cheryl had Lupus. She became active with REAL Women in Trucking Inc. and traveled from Hawaii to the mainland to help in our convention booth and cruise events. One of her dreams was to go "over the road" trucking since being a truck driver in Hawaii all local. I took her on my truck in 2018 and she did her dialysis in the passenger seat while I drove. We stopped at Russells Travel Center where they have a car museum and the curator let her sit in one of the cars on display. Cheryl also appears in the Sisters of the Road Coffee Table book and the REAL Women in Trucking Free Coloring Book PDF on our website. So many of our sisters have now passed away who are in these books. I am grateful we recognized them while they were still with us. Donna Brackbill, Alta Jones, Cheryl Lynn Ibana Bean. Rest in Peace. Your shift is over driver.
