The American dream of homeownership is in crisis. With the average home price now at $420,000—more than double what it would be if it had kept pace with inflation—countless buyers are locked out of the market. In a WSJ letter today, Realtor.com CEO Damian Eales urges policymakers to tackle the root cause of housing affordability: supply. By easing restrictions, cutting red tape, and incentivizing building, we can make homes more accessible to all. Realtor.com is committed to working with communities, industry experts, and government leaders to help build the 7.2 million homes needed—affordable, safe, and ready for tomorrow’s homeowners. Let’s make the American dream possible for all. Read the letter at https://lnkd.in/gQixnEEP

Throughout September and October, we’ve featured teammates from across Realtor.com to learn more about what #NationalHispanicHeritageMonth means to them. As we close this month, meet Carlos S. In his role as Digital Sales Manager, Carlos develops our Digital Sales team by ensuring they have the tools they need to succeed. What does Hispanic Heritage Month mean to you? It's a chance to represent my culture, as well as acknowledge the great Hispanic leaders and game-changers who have pushed us forward through their dedication and hardwork. It's a time to shine a light on who we are and what we stand for. What’s your favorite cultural tradition? My favorite cultural tradition is called Cevichadas. It's a time where our family gets together to prepare a traditional Peruvian seafood dish called ceviche while we share stories and recipes, and spend time together eating and celebrating our culture. In what ways do you feel we foster diversity and inclusion at Realtor.com? I've always felt like I was part of the culture here. Regardless of your background or heritage, everyone is seen and valued, and we work together to reach common goals.

Throughout September and October, we’re featuring teammates from across Realtor.com to learn more about what #NationalHispanicHeritageMonth means to them. Meet Bianca Dominguez. As a Software Engineer on the Identity Team, Bianca specializes in backend systems, where she focuses on resolving user identities, and workes closely with Authentication to ensure secure and seamless user experiences. What does Hispanic Heritage Month mean to you? Hispanic Heritage Month is a time for me to reflect on the deep pride I feel for my culture and community. Growing up in Pilsen, a predominantly Hispanic neighborhood on the south side of Chicago, I was immersed in a vibrant world filled with rich traditions and a strong sense of community. Celebrations like Mexican Independence Day and 'El Grito' were not just events but were vital experiences that connected me to my roots and history. What I love most about my heritage is the beauty and depth of our culture. From the love and care poured into every traditional dish to the colorful and joyous celebrations, there's a profound sense of unity and support that binds us together. Hispanic Heritage Month is an opportunity for me to celebrate all of this—our resilience, our contributions, and the ways we uplift one another. It’s a time to honor where we come from and to share the richness of our culture with others. I will always proudly carry my heritage with me, knowing it's a vital part of who I am. What’s your favorite cultural tradition? One of my favorite traditions is making buñuelos with my grandmother during the holiday season. I have such fond memories of spending time in the kitchen with her, helping to make the dough and rolling it out. It was a time-consuming process, but looking back, I’m so grateful for the hours we spent together, bonding over the shared task. The whole house would be filled with the warm, comforting smell of cinnamon. Those moments were special because they were more than just about cooking—they were about connection and family. I remember knowing that after making buñuelos, I’d get to sip a bit of my grandfather's café and play dominoes with my family, creating even more cherished memories. What do you wish more people knew about you/your family’s culture and/or heritage? In the Hispanic community, everyone is treated like family, and there's always room for one more at the table. Growing up, I remember there was always enough food to feed not just our family but any extra friends who might join us for dinner. Our traditions are open to everyone, and we genuinely love sharing them with others, whether it’s inviting someone to join in on a celebration or simply sharing a meal. The warmth and hospitality of our community are at the heart of who we are. It's about creating a sense of belonging and making sure everyone feels included. I think that's something truly special about our culture that I wish more people understood and experienced.
