Erin Jamieson Day, MPH will be on a prevention panel next month at our Craven County Collaborative Meeting Thurs Oct 17th at 1pm. Harrison Center New Bern NC. We can’t wait to host her!
In 2017, a group of community members and I worked to develop a Recovery Community Center called RC3 and an access point to treatment called the Hope Alliance. We opened RC3 and launched the Hope Alliance in the Fall of 2017. It was one of the best years of my life. At that time, there was no federal investment in recovery support services and very little in harm reduction. People thought we were a little crazy. Thank you to the HEALTHCARE FOUNDATION OF WILSON for taking a chance on our wild idea. Today Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSAgov), HHS invested $3 million to scale that effort to four surrounding counties in Eastern NC. I never dreamed that RC3 and the Hope Alliance in addition to all the ancillary services provided within i.e. a syringe service program, HIV and HepC testing, expungement clinic, post overdose response, and naloxone provision would be seen and used as a model. Proud is an understatement! #community #continuumofcare #publichealth #recoverymonth #recoverysupportservices #harmreduction Wilson County Substance Prevention Coalition

The topic of conversation: Peer Support Specialist & How Can They Help Support Healthy Recovery Communities. Thank you Lizzy Toler and RAI for organizing this event. Each panelist brought a wealth of knowledge to share- we all left with information that will help us support our peers in the future!
