About us
North Dakota Governor Doug Burgum and First Lady Kathryn Burgum invite you to Recovery Reinvented, focused on starting the healing and reinventing recovery of addiction in North Dakota and beyond state lines. Addiction has an impact on all North Dakotans. Addiction is treatable and there is hope for recovery. Now is the time to act. It’s never too late and it’s never too early. Help start the healing and reinvent recovery. Recovery Reinvented brings together state and national recovery experts to share innovative practices that will lead to action. We can unite to find solutions to help people in our state affected by the disease of addiction. Come be part of the discussion as together, we work to eliminate the shame and stigma of addiction and reinvent recovery.

Huge thanks to our amazing sponsors, the incredible team of volunteers from State of North Dakota Behavioral Health Division, and our keynote speakers William Moyers from Hazelden Betty Ford Foundation, Natasha Silver Bell from SilverBell Global, and Gregory Tatro from Jenna's Promise — your insights and passion are at the heart of this event. A special shoutout to the rockstar team at Livewire for producing an exceptional show, and to all our Recovery Reinvented Expo vendors for making the event unforgettable. And last, but certainly not least, a heartfelt thank you to Governor Doug Burgum and First Lady Kathryn Burgum for their courage and unwavering advocacy for those in or seeking recovery. Recovery Reinvented: North Dakota reposted this
I’m always grateful for the opportunity to share my journey of recovery along with the work that’s happening in North Dakota surrounding recovery efforts and Recovery Reinvented: North Dakota. On Thursday, I had the honor of virtually speaking at the Independence County DWI Court Ceremony in Batesville, Arkansas. Thank you, Judge Chaney Taylor, for the invitation to be back and speak! DWI Courts, which are now being called #RecoveryCourts in North Dakota, focus on addressing the root causes of addiction. These specialized courts offer treatment, supervision, and support, providing people the tools they need to achieve lasting recovery. They are making a real difference by addressing substance use and mental health issues directly. Congratulations to the graduates! Your courage and commitment to recovery inspire me. Recovery Reinvented: North Dakota reposted this
“To Recover” means “to get back what we have lost.” As a little girl, I dreamt of riding my horse on the beach - no saddle, shoes, or reins. I yearned to express my bond with my grandmother and the Montana land she called home. I longed for that deep connection with animals and nature. I craved that sense of freedom. In my addiction, I did the opposite. I hid from the sunlight and sky. I tied myself in knots to prove myself in unsafe spaces. I indebted myself to substance, violence, and isolation…until I learned that We. Can. Recover. * We can recover from a bad cold * We can recover damages after a financial setback * We can recover files we mistakenly deleted …. and we can recover from the depths of darkness and despair. We can heal spiritually, emotionally, mentally, and physically from the ravages of addiction and harmful behavior. Recovery can mean many things. For me, recovery means returning to the core of who we are - so we can be who we were always meant to be. Join me on Oct 30th as I tell my own story of recovery and listen to others at Recovery Reinvented ‘24: https://lnkd.in/eieFkPFW
