I often say that the power of shared experience is life changing. After all, the first step to overcoming shame and stigma around the disease of addiction is connection and conversation. It is with great excitement that I announce I will be a keynote speaker at Kathryn Burgum’s 2024 Recovery Reinvented: North Dakota conference on October 30th at the Bismarck Event Centre. Join myself, Dr William Moyers and Gregory Tatro as we discuss the nuance of addiction and how it relates to stigma and shame. You can watch the event live at www.recoveryreinvented.com

  • We are beyond excited to announce our third and final keynote speaker — Natasha Silver Bell! 🌟 Natasha is the founder and CEO of SilverBell Global, where she manages systems and multidisciplinary teams around the world. A Midwest farm girl at heart, Natasha was born in Montana and raised in Michigan, where she was crowned Miss Michigan USA at just 19 years old. Her success led her to New York and a career as a Ford model, but after facing challenges with drug and alcohol addiction, Natasha found a new path in recovery coaching. Since becoming sober in 2008, Natasha has used her unique vision to champion clinicians and practitioners, helping them launch their own visions for the future through SilverBell Global’s innovative, multidisciplinary approach to recovery. She is also a co-founder of the Inservice Foundation, which provides mental health support to underserved populations, and Youth Prevention Mentors (YPM), an organization empowering young adults through mentorship and risk mitigation. Natasha is passionate about expanding the dialogue on mental wealth, addiction, recovery, and toxic achievement culture. She has curated socially relevant panel discussions with expert practitioners in New York, Dubai, London, and Oxford. In September 2024, she presented Women and Money: The Value of Self-Worth at the Masters Events/Oxford. You can read her full bio and register for our October 30th event right here: https://lnkd.in/gHs4ENhQ Join us as we welcome Natasha Silver Bell to our stage — her journey of resilience, leadership, and innovation will inspire us all! ✨

First Lady of North Dakota | Recovery Advocate

22 years sober today. I sometimes think of my life as before and after. This photo is before I started talking about the shame and stigma of my story. 15 years in recovery at that time. Most people did not know anything about my struggle with a brain disease. So grateful for the courage and opportunity to share my journey to encourage others to talk about their struggles and most importantly get help. We can unite across our nation to stop overdose deaths and provide more services and help for people, families and communities impacted by the disease of addiction. There is always hope for #recovery. Don’t ever give up. Reach out to me via DM. I am here for you like the people who were there for me when I needed help.

  • One of the most wonderful parts of working in the recovery space is getting to meet and collaborate with partners from around our state and around the country that are engaged in innovative, life-saving work. One of those amazing partners that we've met is the team at Jenna's Promise . Jenna's Promise was founded by the Tatro family in 2019 after the tragic loss of their daughter and sister, Jenna. Today marks five years since Jenna's passing, and we are joining forces with people and organizations across the country to reflect on this moment, and speak up to create positive momentum in the battle against the disease of addiction. At Recovery Reinvented, our mission has always been to eliminate the shame and stigma of the disease of addiction so that we may create more avenues for people to get the help that they need, and in doing so, help others experience the hope and joy that recovery can offer. Today, in Jenna's memory, we are asking you to join us in this fight by continuing to be empathetic and understanding towards people who are facing addiction and their families, to bring the conversation about addiction to places where it currently isn't being held, and to support our front-line providers who are saving lives across the country every day. We know that if we continue to do these things, together, we can make a huge impact. #FiveYearsOfHope
