We get so many questions about charging costs that our research team wrote a guide to calculate it for your EV. This is one doodle from the post but you can read the whole thing here: https://lnkd.in/g_JRCBD3

Just like the Mustang Mach-E, Ford is electrifying another one of its historic nameplates. The 2024 Ford Capri revives the Capri name and ushers it into the electrified era. https://lnkd.in/g2afjYSC

Going 0-60 in 3 seconds is a fun perk, but this is a good reminder that electric vehicles are still vehicles that need to fit into our daily lives. For a lot of families that requires a third row and extra storage space. Great insights from Joel Bassam (Easterns Automotive Group) and Austin Morrell (Electric Car Corner).

Uncertainty about EV residual values has kept some consumers out of the market and discouraged lenders from financing leases. Fortunately, that's changing. Used-EV depreciation over the past year reflects temporary market dynamics, a normalization after a period when used vehicles APPRECIATED in value. That appreciation was unsustainable and did not represent true used-vehicle values in a normal market. - Liz Najman Thanks to C.J. Moore and the team at Automotive News for including our insights in this article. https://lnkd.in/gcSCf6v3

Used EV prices are leveling off and will become even more predictable in the third quarter. “Unlike the used ICE market that’ll continue to be volume constrained due to supply chain disruptions from COVID, skyrocketing PHEV and BEV lease rates from 2023 onward will mean that the used EV market really takes off in 2026” - Scott Case Get the full story by Anna Del Villar and Car Dealership Guy. https://lnkd.in/gGy6VbGu

The lease rates for EVs have surpassed pre-pandemic levels, and continue to climb. Data from Experian Automotive suggests that as of 2023, about 30% of new EVs – BEV and PHEV – were leased. This number will grow in 2024. It also means that we can expect these cars to return to the used car market in predictable 3-year intervals at the end of the lease term. The used EV market is going to expand dramatically. https://lnkd.in/g-hDQnz5

Think of EV heat exposure as drops in the bucket rather than something that causes a sudden change. It can be likened to human aging and bad habits that might accelerate the aging process, like smoking. The threat of prolonged heat exposure is that it alters the rate of the electrochemical reactions in the battery, leading to a shorter useful life over the long term. “I can probably count on one hand the number of times we’ve seen a car lose range quickly and unexpectedly, and the team has not had a reason to believe that any of them were due to a single heat wave.” - Andrew Garberson Read the full article by Bengt Halvorson here 👇 https://lnkd.in/gPDMY-f2
No, extreme heat doesn't cause people to get stuck in EVs
