Our goal is to eliminate metal from the landfill within the next 30 years through education.
About us
At Scrap University Kids, our 30 year goal is to eliminate metal from the trash through education. We aim to educate children on the importance of recycling all types of metal in a fun and engaging way. Our books, worksheets, and events are designed to teach kids that metal is a valuable resource that can be recycled indefinitely. By instilling this knowledge in young minds, we believe we can make a meaningful contribution to preserving our planet. Recycling metal is a crucial part of reducing waste and conserving natural resources. It is important for children to understand that even small actions like recycling can make a significant impact on the environment. By showing them that metal recycling is both easy and rewarding, we hope to inspire the next generation to become responsible stewards of the earth. Join us at Scrap University Kids and let's work together to save the planet 1 recycled can at a time! ♻️🥫🌍💚🧲 Scrap University Kids is Jessica Alexanderson, Brad Rudover & Shaziya M Jaffer

It's kinda crazy that nobody knows who Nucor Corporation is and what they do. 🤷 We explained it to a Bosa Properties employee recently. 📝 "Those skyscrapers you're building are all made with rebar that was manufactured at Nucor. ✅ Oh wait. You probably don't know who Nucor is. 🤔 They're the world's largest recycler of #scrapmetal and producer of new steel." We're going to spread the word about Nucor to the next generation so they will recognize the importance of recycling. #recyclingrocks ♻️🤘 https://lnkd.in/gd7YDz3Y

Thank you, Novelis, for everything you do to help our planet! 🌎 We agree that a 45% can recycling rate in the USA is unacceptable. Let's teach the next generation to never throw cans in the trash because recycling is like magic! Our book, The Girl Who Recycled 1 Million Cans, can help spread this important message! ♻️🥫🥫🥫🚯🦄🧲📚🤩💖 Save 10% with code SCIAPS200 https://lnkd.in/gZiYPJdx
At Novelis, we are committed to driving sustainability in the aluminum industry. Our latest commentary in Recycling Today, authored by Greg S., SVP of Global Beverage Packaging, highlights the transformative benefits of boosting aluminum can recycling rates in the U.S. Currently, only 45% of aluminum beverage containers are recycled in the U.S., compared to nearly 100% in Brazil and Germany. Increasing this rate could save 95% of the energy needed to produce new aluminum, create over 100,000 jobs, raise wages, eliminate 1.3 million tons of landfill waste, and add $1.6 billion in annual sales.
