Our goal is to eliminate metal from the landfill within the next 30 years through education.
About us
At Scrap University Kids, our 30 year goal is to eliminate metal from the trash through education. We aim to educate children on the importance of recycling all types of metal in a fun and engaging way. Our books, worksheets, and events are designed to teach kids that metal is a valuable resource that can be recycled indefinitely. By instilling this knowledge in young minds, we believe we can make a meaningful contribution to preserving our planet. Recycling metal is a crucial part of reducing waste and conserving natural resources. It is important for children to understand that even small actions like recycling can make a significant impact on the environment. By showing them that metal recycling is both easy and rewarding, we hope to inspire the next generation to become responsible stewards of the earth. Join us at Scrap University Kids and let's work together to save the planet 1 recycled can at a time! ♻️🥫🌍💚🧲 Scrap University Kids is Jessica Alexanderson, Brad Rudover & Shaziya M Jaffer

It's #RecycleWeek in the UK ♻️ And to mark the occasion, our initiative unveiled a brand-new installation to London's iconic Piccadilly Circus! Our Infinity Sculpture is made from more than 1,200 drink cans and illustrates the life cycle of a drink can, highlighting that aluminium can be recycled time and time again, forever ♾️ The can-made artwork will be on display by Eros (the Shaftesbury Memorial Fountain) in Piccadilly Circus until Friday 18th October to mark the Recycle Week in the most memorable and impactful way. It's so amazing to see our books The Girl Who Recycled 1 Million Cans and A Recycling Adventure to the Scrapyard featured at the Children's Museum of Phoenix gift shop! 🎉🦄📚🌵 A huge thanks to Lauren Roadman at Ball Corporation 💙 for making the introduction. The museum is doing something fantastic—they’ve partnered with Olgin Efune Recycling Co. to start recycling aluminum cans, and the money they raise from the cans will go toward planting trees. 🌳🌟 This week alone, they recycled 40 LBS of cans! ♻️ Shoutout to Alex Winkler & Richard K. for teaming up with Georgie Hanlin and her team and helping get those cans recycled. So excited to see this amazing program continue to grow. Happy reading and recycling, everyone! 📚♻️✨ #RecyclingMagic #Sustainability #aluminum #cans #recycling #education #giftshop #books #cactus #phoenix #scrapyard #metalrecyclesforever Recycling is like Magic! " Our 3rd Grade students along with the 4-H club are currently competing in the 2 Million Cans Recycling Contest to recycle aluminum cans at school! They are collecting cans to raise money for our school and to compete against 18 other schools across the country. To learn more about recycling and how great it is for the planet, students read "The Girl Who Recycled 1 Million Cans." They even had a special guest reader, Fatima Dad, Matthew Rongey! Matt's family runs Louisiana Scrap Metal Recycling who is sponsoring the recycling contest in #Louisiana. He was able to answer students' questions about what happens after a can is put in a recycling bin. The students also got to decorate their own can-recycling bag to take home to collect cans." - Our Lady of Fatima Elementary School #2millioncans #aluminum #cans #education #recycling #contest #metalrecyclesforever #everycancounts Can Manufacturers Institute Heath Cox Dorie Thompson Scott Breen Tim Ebner Jessica Alexanderson Brad W.
