  • “Despite their immense economic and cultural impacts, each area suffers from a lack of essential care,” she said, noting the need to encourage public-private partnerships with incentives for socially responsible development. “As one of downtown Austin’s core music institutions, we’re actively engaged in ongoing conversations with various community leaders, elected officials, business owners and developers to better understand their plans for the future of downtown Austin. Our organization is steadfast in its mission to protect Red River, and we look forward to continuing conversations with each stakeholder about how they plan to work with us to preserve and positively impact our mile-long district.” https://lnkd.in/gBRpfnrH

  • RED RIVER, LET’S RALLY TOGETHER! 🤝 We need YOU to reach out to your local city council rep asking them to “support funding to the Red River Cultural District with an immediate aid package” For some background…after some much-needed funding from the City of Austin for the District was denied last year, our organization spoke in front of the Austin Music Commission, who voted unanimously in the new year that some financial support is immediately needed, due to the ongoing and complex challenges faced by our nonprofit organization (downtown development, rising rents, i35 expansion etc) and the long-standing cultural contributions of our mile-long entertainment district! If able to secure the needed funding, this will allow our organization to continue advocating on behalf of the many local venues, restaurants, bars, nightclubs, community hotspots, and independently-owned businesses found along Red River. We’ll keep y’all updated as this moves forward in the weeks ahead. As they say, it takes a village! And gosh do we sure LOVE our Red River village. Learn more! https://lnkd.in/gUT6zedV
