Wow, you might think, that's a lot of money invested to stop working on it. But that's a sunk cost. And not investing more in the future is the right answer, however much it might hurt. Effective leaders know when to stop investing in something that won't work. Rational decisions in teams and organizations can be few and far between among the emotional and political ones. So as much as I'd love to have seen an Apple iCar, perhaps what they'll do instead is invest in adding their technology to other manufacturer's vehicles. There's more than one way to dominate a market. #thinkoutsidethebox #rational #decisions #sunkcost https://lnkd.in/gPZTF5bn

Imagine if you could upgrade your capabilities each year, or perhaps every 3-6 months. Would you? Think of it like uOS (like iOS, but for you). Newsflash - you can. Being intentional about what you learn, when you learn it, and how you apply it is part of your own power. But most people don't do this. Why? They're too busy just making it through the week, putting out the fires, getting those priorities completed, and on Friday evening being thankful they got there unscathed. Then it's mid-October. (What?!) So, take a few minutes out of your day and think intentionally about where you want to be in 3-6-12 months. Which capabilities you want to have that you don't have now. Then get at it with the same persistence that you handle your daily work. You'll thank yourself in 3-6-12 months. And it compounds every year thereafter. #professionaldevelopment #growth #success #youroperatingsystem #redefinewinning

Effective leverage in teams is critical. That’s the point really. You’re not expected to do it all yourself. And contrary to popular belief, you don’t own success on your own - even if it feels like it most or all of the time. Effective, Cohesive Teams own success together. The name of our company came about because of this realization. So, do you win together? #crossthefinishlinetogether #redefinewinning #leverage #ownership #accountability #team

I help leaders accelerate and elevate their team’s performance without having to invest a lot of time.

A bit of nostalgia for a Monday morning; I was inspired by Knight Rider in the 1980s, and felt like I was in that space today. Groundbreaking innovation is just one of the key outcomes of a high performing, high impact, cohesive team. Whether innovation is your focus, or perhaps breaking into new markets, cost reduction, or co-creating the future vision and strategies of your organization, it all starts with unleashing the latent talent in your team today. We’ll here to help you disrupt the market and succeed exponentially. Innovation is key for organizational survival, and we respect what the Tesla team is doing, but even assuming that this innovation is delivered on time, it feels like Tesla is already behind the curve. Waymo already has driverless taxis on the road in many cities. And they are so cool! That said, at the price stated, I'm not sure people wouldn't buy a Tesla Robotaxi and just use it as their primary car - while letting others hire it when it's not in use. https://lnkd.in/gmqyjVW9

The world has changed and continues to do so. What success looked like 30 years ago is not the same today. Of course, we agree with Adam's view. And we'd take it one step further. It's not just about synthesizing, it's about how you do that across your team and the network aligned to your success. That's how you take something that is powerful and make it exponentially powerful. #coexponentialoutcomes #synthesize #patternrecognition #powerful #exponential

Information scarcity rewarded knowledge acquisition. Information abundance requires pattern recognition.

It's not enough to collect facts. The future belongs to those who connect dots.

A key question we ask teams when we partner with them in our facilitated sessions is, “Are you collectively focused on the right things?” The room lights up. Everyone inherently wants to be part of a winning team, to achieve their full potential, to be proud of what they’ve done. They lean into the fact that winning teams consistently meet or exceed goals, and they thrive when the norm is to innovate and create 10X outcomes, rather than just turn the handle. That handle can be boring. Honestly, they’ll align together for the highest exponential return and will even welcome new ways of working – such as agile leadership sprints – to assure they win together. It’s as addictive as gamification, but we’re talking real results. #gamification #results #careerdefining #redefinewinning #success #transformation #invitetheteamin

Making change happen in organizations while running business as usual is tough. The juxtaposition of holding some things still while others are expected to change is not lost on us. Change one thing but make sure nothing else changes; this is likely as effective as taking a medical prescription. While you’re targeting change in one area, it’s going to have intended and unintended consequences in other areas, too, even the things you’re seeking to sustain. The skillsets for both may also be different, or if you’ve got good, capable people, you may find it’s more a question of intentionality and coaching than skillset. Or perhaps you have the luxury of different teams for each activity. Either way, aligning your team(s) around what good looks like in each space is critical. This will help them know where to make transformative change happen while leaving things static in other areas. And you need everyone to have the big picture so they can make decisions aligned with the intent - without deferring to you. #transformation #businessasusual #balance #success #effectiveteaming

Does your team have a shared view of what transformation looks like? An important question that could produce as many answers as people responding to it is, when is transformation really transformation and not just maintaining the status quo? When it comes to transformative actions, most teams look at outcomes that are in the 5-10% range. That means, 5-10% more sales, 5-10% increased efficiency, 5-10% reduced cost, etc. As a team coaching organization, we struggle with this because we see these small improvements as table stakes to avoid the equivalent of inflationary pressures, and not transformative outcomes at all. What’s perhaps more interesting is the reality that it takes the same effort to get a small boost in outcomes like those examples as it does to get a transformational shift in results. Why settle for 5-10% improvements in a specific area when you could deliver 5-10 times improvements in that area for the same kind of time, money, and effort expended? That's what your competition is doing. They're all about the 5-10X outcomes. Leaving you behind. Not sure how to tackle this with or in your team? Get in touch. We'll share how you can do it. Or we'll run a session with your team so you can see the 5-10X impact yourself. Being of service is in our DNA. #transformation #outpacecompetition #team #leadership #success #outcomes
