Health Insurance Claim Denials AI Platform - Driving Value and Cost Savings for Payors thru Machine Learning
About us
Our mission is to get healthcare providers paid by automating the remediation of their health insurance claim denials. We have created Daniel - our AI platform that utilizes Machine Learning (ML) to fix denied claims by analyzing each denial, determining what is wrong, and providing recommended actions to fix the claim so it can be re-submitted for approval and payment. Our vision: An environment where every healthcare claim denial is processed in real time, efficiently and accurately, allowing providers to dedicate more time to patient care. Using the Red Sky Health program improves revenue by identifying opportunities for chronic care management. This benefits patient care, increases quality scores and generates potential for incentive payments. The use of coding recommendations improves claims accuracy ensuring no over or underbilling.

Bottom line: The more you use your health insurance, the more likely your insurance carrier will deny your claim.... "About one in five insured adults who used emergency room services (22%) or mental health services (22%) say they had a denied claim, though there is no way to tell from the survey if the denials were for claims related to these specific services. Finally, people who identify as LGBT are nearly twice as likely to experience denied claims compared to other consumers (30% vs. 17%)"

When the Affordable Care Act (ACA) was first instituted in 2010, the government was given expansive authority to require that health insurance carriers provide information about their denials. But more than a decade later, the federal government has collected only a fraction of what it’s entitled to. One of Red Sky Health's goals is to create large datasets of the most comprehensive denials data. This data can mean a sea of change in transparency for healthcare providers and consumers. https://lnkd.in/eTSaMXmW

People with private insurance are more likely to have denied claims than people with public coverage The KFF Survey of Consumer Experiences with Health Insurance found that 18% of insured adults say they experienced denied claims in the past year. This problem was somewhat more common among people with employer-sponsored insurance (21%) and marketplace insurance (20%), less so among people with Medicare (10%) or Medicaid (12%).

"In 2024, we expect AI to become even more integral to value-based care organizations because of the technology's ability to synthesize massive amounts of data to generate patient insights delivered at the point of care. By knocking down traditional barriers to prospective workflows, organizations can better understand their population's true prospective risk and quality profiles and start to impact care with better outcomes." Jay Ackerman, president and CEO, Reveleer

"A jump in claim delays and denials is “wreaking havoc on providers’ revenue cycle performance” and contributing to health systems’ “volatile” accounts receivable and diminishing cash reserves, according to a recent pair of analyses." Clearly, the leading driver of aged [accounts receivable] more than 90 days is related to increases in initially denied claims, which require additional time and resources from hospitals, health systems and medical practices to resolve,” https://lnkd.in/eSUF4kEE.
