Mother Earth is here to be loved, honored, and enjoyed but we must not forget to give back, we can’t forget to do our part. This is a reminder to not take our planet for granted. 🌍🪴 Some people and corporations are making us run out of time. They may choose to look away from the screens, from reality, avoid, deny and repress the truth. Now is the moment to make a difference! ‼️🚨 On this day let’s remind everyone that Mother Earth is majestic, magical and the most beautiful home we’ll ever have. Applications are now open for the GreenCheck Solidarity Academy, a paid internship program that aims to empower the next generation of climate leaders from Most Affected Peoples and Areas (MAPA). Biodiversity is more at risk now than at any other point in human history.🤕 Xiye Bastida, Founder of Re-Earth Initiative and member of the #GenerationRestoration Youth Hub, shares about the change she would like to see in the world. “I would love my generation to be the last one dependent on fossil fuels and if we can have that as a legacy and mark an end to the era of fossil fuels, I think we can set up the future for a brighter way of living and challenging all of us to imagine something that is just. #OPPORTUNITY ALERT! We are launching the GreenCheck Solidarity Academy! This summer, six interns will participate in a four-month paid internship programme, which will consist a 1-month training and upskilling component in areas such as #Decoloniality, #ClimateJustice, and #Grassroots Organising, supported with relevant skills training. Interns will then embark on a 3-month programme with one of GreenCheck's Partners, that emphasises a holistic, justice-focused, and human-as-nature educational framework. Through the GreenCheck Solidarity Academy, we aim to: 1) Train the next generation of climate leaders from Most Affected Peoples and Areas (#MAPA) 2) Scale existing high-impact and MAPA-led frontline climate justice actions 3) Increase transnational, inter-MAPA solidarity We are so excited to have the opportunity to work with #youths from MAPA and through them, help to strengthen frontline community-led projects and enrich the broader climate movement. One of those sessions that fill you with energy and empowers you to persist in this collective #climateaction journey. I am deeply honoured to have shared the stage at #COP28 with the passionate climate activist Xiye Bastida, recently recognized on this year's TIME100 Next list, and the incredibly committed and inspiring Daniel Truran, #BCorp Ambassador and board member of B Lab Spain, as we discussed the value of #Transparency. As part of the #Together4Transparency series of events, we shared insights on how transparency serves as a tool not only for countries but across society. How it is a common denominator, an essential component that cannot be overlooked when looking at the full picture of this transition. "When we have transparency, we know what to ask for" Xiye said. This underscores the importance for companies to measure their #climateprogress and start competing for good rather than for profits, by implementing transparency frameworks and open disclosure systems. It IS the way forward, as Daniel affirmed. We collectively envision a future that doesn't endanger either the planet or people. And you?
