🚀 REFERENCE team met for the Final Transnational Project Meeting in Brasov, Romania on 15th and 16th February! 🎯 It was a successful and productive meeting, essential for defining the very last steps of the Reference project. We spent two lovely days together, discussing what we've been through, what we achieved and those last activities to be finalised and improved for our community and the wider audience! 🤝 Undoubtedly, the completion of the project resulted from fruitful cooperation! 📱 The REFERENCE MYFunds App enables citizens and businesses in the consortium's member regions to learn, in a simple and intuitive way, about subsidized financing opportunities related to the European Union's cohesion policies. 🚀 Launched in 2021, the project continues to support individuals who aspire to bring their ideas to life. The platform facilitates searches for national and regional opportunities in the four member countries (Italy, Romania, Greece, and Lithuania). 🧭 Let's explore more of the EU Cohesion Policy! The main goal of Cohesion Policy is to create a better Europe for citizens through various key aspects, including sustainability and the environment, aiming for a "green" Europe. 🟢 Green investments in climate change mitigation and adaptation focus on the goals of the European Green Deal, aiming to reduce EU greenhouse gas emissions by at least 55% by 2030 and achieve climate neutrality by 2050. This initiative aims to make Europe the first climate-neutral continent. To support climate change adaptation and disaster risk management, the policy will fund the construction of new green infrastructure covering an area of 229,000 hectares. 🤝 Thanks to Cohesion Policy investments, 16.4 million people will benefit from improved access to clean water supply and wastewater treatment infrastructure. ⏱️ What about a recap on DG REGIO? The Directorate-General for Regional and Urban Policy (DG REGIO) oversees EU policies concerning regions and cities, as well as initiatives aimed at promoting the economic and social development of less-developed regions within the EU. This department supports these regions through structural policies and programs designed to enhance their competitiveness and foster economic growth. DG REGIO manages three primary funds: 🔹 The European Regional Development Fund (ERDF), which provides assistance to 27 EU member states. 🔹 The Instrument for Pre-Accession Assistance (IPA), which succeeded the Instrument for Structural Policies for Pre-Accession (ISPA). IPA supports potential member states in improving their environmental conditions and developing transportation networks. 🔹 The Cohesion Fund, which finances investments in environmental projects and trans-European networks, particularly in the transportation infrastructure sector. 🔎 A comprehensive review of DG REGIO's activities over several decades is imperative, and it is important to express gratitude since DG REGIO serves as the funding body for the REFERENCE project. #CohesionFunds #referenceproject #CohesionPolicy #europeanfunds

💡 REFERENCE project developed a series of EU Cohesion Policy success story videos in partnership countries. Watch the success story of Lithuania, the Cohesion Policy-funded project "Requalify IT," featuring an interview with Giedrė Jarašūnė by CIVITTA. 👏 Giedrė Jarašūnė, the project manager from the Startup Division, presents the Cohesion Policy-funded project "Requalify IT" ("Kompetencijos LT"). The primary goals of the presented project were to maintain employees' professional mobility, their ability to quickly reorient to entirely new economic sectors, and to enhance qualification levels. The "WakeZ" project is funded through the Regional Operational Programme 2014-2020, one of the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF) programs.
