About us

The New England Pediatric Environmental Health Specialty Unit (Region 1 PEHSU), one of the first of now ten national units, has been providing services for over 20 years. Our unit covers the New England states; Connecticut, Maine, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, Rhode Island, and Vermont. Our goal is to improve children’s and reproductive health by leading the integration of environmental health into clinical care and public health while supporting communities to address historical injustices and ongoing environmental racism, and address the existential threat of climate change. The Region 1 PEHSU provides education and outreach, environmental health training, and clinical consultations to community members and medical and health professionals.
