If we’re going to build true resilience across the food system, we need to make it work for farmers and businesses alike. This year’s Agriculture Resilience Summit underscored the importance of identifying and tackling the challenges that lie on the path to resilience. It’s my favorite time of the year during Regrow Ag Agriculture Resilience Summit! Top agrifood leaders gathered to assess our progress in building resilience, and together we identified 3 critical levers to transform our food system: 1️⃣ Build the business case for resilience How can we do this? By assessing the value of regenerative programs beyond immediate ROI. If we’re going to fund the transition to resilience, we must examine the indirect benefits of this work — and the cost of inaction — alongside the direct impact of programs. 2️⃣ Unlock the advantage of collaboration In agriculture, collaboration is key. Not only did we talk about forging strong partnerships — across the supply chain and at the landscape level — but we made those connections in person. 3️⃣ Overcome practical challenges to program scale Throughout the Summit we encouraged open sharing—what’s working, what isn’t, and how we can help fix it. Discussions left us with clear next steps: learn from past mistakes and make new ones. Through honest collaboration, we built relationships and solutions that will propel us all forward on the path to resilience. The journey continues, and I’m excited to see what’s next for Agriculture Resilience. #AgricultureResilience #futureoffood #sustainability #ClimateAction #regenerativefarming #regenerativeagriculture

Over the last decade, conservation tillage rates have mostly stalled across the US as a whole. Why is this so concerning? Regenerative practices like conservation tillage are a key opportunity for us to improve the health and resilience of soil while also sequestering more soil carbon. And we aren’t adopting these practices fast enough. While conservation tillage is not a viable solution for each and every farm, higher levels of adoption overall would suggest a movement towards better soil management. Clearer data, stronger incentives and further education are needed to increase sustainable practice adoption. Regrow is on a mission to provide our industry with the most rigorous, actionable data possible so we can build a more resilient food system.

The path to #AgricultureResilience isn’t easy. It requires transforming the agrifood supply chain — a global network comprised of people, corporations, governments and international organizations. Some of those organizations are big ships to turn. But together, we can turn those ships faster (and in a better direction). According to our CEO Anastasia Volkova, PhD .... 🔍 Leaders are staying the course, pushing resilience forward.  🌾 Followers are stepping up, and need community support in, scaling regenerative ag from crops to livestock. 🌳 Adoption is deepening... but not necessarily accelerating. The most important thing about ships is that they all rise with the tide. Let's use our collective knowledge to build resilience.

Should we be eating more peas? Here are the least GHG-intensive crops measured in Regrow's Agriculture Resilience platform, based on their emissions from crop production minus the amount of carbon they sequester in the soil (measured in kg CO2e / kg yield). Crops with negative values - like peas, rye and potatoes - actually sequestered more carbon in the soil than was released into the atmosphere as a result of field activities such as planting, fertilization, and crop harvesting. Pretty amazing, right? Players up and down the food supply chain are using this type of data to create actionable plans to reduce their emissions - through better sourcing decisions, incentivizing sustainable practice adoption and reformulating products. It’s crucial not to paint a region’s farming practices with too broad a brush. Take, for example, cover cropping in Kansas. While the statewide adoption rate is 8.8%, individual counties vary dramatically, from just 0.8% 📉 to nearly 50% 📈. One major difference between the lowest and highest adopters? Where they fall on a diagonal line running through the state, representing the ecosystem change from High Plains to Great Plains. In Kansas and beyond, local context is key — there truly are no one-size-fits-all sustainable agriculture solutions. That’s why Regrow provides precise, field-level data and insights to help you design scalable programs tailored to local realities. Move beyond generic data and scale your impact with Regrow.

🌱 We need to keep scaling regenerative agriculture — and it seems much of the ag industry agrees. According to World Grain, major US ingredient suppliers are ramping up efforts to expand their regenerative agriculture programs, reaching beyond borders to meet growing demands from food companies. In this article, World Grain reports that companies like Bartlett are innovating with platforms and direct payments to keep US farmers motivated to build resilience and help ag and food companies reach climate goals. At Regrow, we're proud to be part of the movement to scale regenerative agriculture. Our recent partnership with Bartlett is just one example of how we're working to scale regenerative agriculture through robust data and strong partnerships across the supply chain. Let's keep pushing for sustainability and environmental responsibility with our partners across the supply chain. #RegenerativeAgriculture #Sustainability #ClimateAction #AgTech #AgricultureResilience

Last week the Regrow team had the pleasure of attending Kisaco Research's Regen Ag Summit in Amsterdam. Just before the conference we hosted a workshop alongside Soil Capital on scaling regenerative ag programs and accelerating transformation across the supply chain. 🌱 Our Key Takeaways? 1️⃣ The robust turnout from major food & beverage companies highlighted a shared enthusiasm and proactive commitment to regenerative agriculture. Their experiences from pilot programs were not only insightful but also reflective of a broader community spirit, eager to scale sustainable practices. 2️⃣ A consensus emerged around the essential elements needed for scaling: access to independent agronomy advice, attractive financial incentives for farmers, and strengthened supply chain partnerships that facilitate cost-sharing during transitions. 3️⃣ Discussions underscored the importance of cross-functional collaboration within companies, aligning finance, compliance, sustainability, procurement, and risk management towards common goals. The workshop and conference underscored a collective resolve to propel the food system towards greater resilience, and we left the event excited and inspired to continue our work in this space. ⭐ #RegenerativeAgriculture #Sustainability #SupplyChainTransformation #AgricultureResilience Photos: Raphael Esterhazy
