Today our team is attending the NEW HAMPSHIRE ADJUSTERS ASSOCIATION Annual Conference located at the Puritan Conference & Event Center, Puritan Backroom Restaurant. The theme for this year’s #RecoveryMonth is “The Art of Recovery”. The Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration’s (SAMHSA) Office of Recovery hosted a 2024 Art of Recovery project for artists with lived or living experience to showcase their work. This project aims to highlight the transformative impact of art on mental health and substance use recovery. Through creative expression, individuals can find connection, healing, and empowerment. By promoting artistic avenues as viable tools for coping, self-discovery, and expression, this project aspires to break down societal stigma surrounding mental health conditions and substance use, fostering understanding and support for those on their journey to wellness. #Recovery4ALL #RecoveryEquity

The month celebrates how a healthy lifestyle should include getting and staying in shape, the importance of challenging the mind and spirit, why making a commitment to better health, and keeping up social connections are critical. As we age, our health becomes more important. This month encourages to act how you feel, instead of acting your age! This month also encourages our clients to take charge of their well-being, by aging with a healthy body (physical health), and a healthy mind (mental health). There are many ways to use this month as inspiration to celebrate life with the month being dedicated to helping individuals gain a more positive outlook about growing older. Which is exactly what we do! We have the knowledge gained from years of providing quality care for people of all ages and types of needs to help our clients live their best and healthiest lives!

Today we want to highlight our Home and Community patient Courtnie! She was a typical sixteen year old - she was bright, enjoyed spending time with her boyfriend, dreamed of playing sports, and going to college. In December 2020, it seemed those dreams had come to an end when a car accident that killed her boyfriend left Courtnie in a coma. She had a severe brain injury with intracranial hemorrhages, a diffuse axonal injury and bilateral frontal contusions, in addition to multiple severe orthopedic injuries. But Courtnie, her family and her Rehab Without Walls team worked hard - and today, she’s playing high school sports and has been accepted into her dream college.
