REHOPE restores and empowers women and children survivors of human trafficking through love, guidance, and the assurance of a long term home. Housing, food, clothing, medical treatment, trauma informed therapy, education, mentoring, and job training are provided. Guidance for physical, nutritional, spiritual and emotional well being is offered as well.

This is significant news and a huge step forward for trafficking survivors! The Trafficking Survivors Relief Act (HR 7137) passing the House Judiciary Committee signals that federal legislators are recognizing the critical need to address the injustices that survivors face long after their trafficking experience ends. By providing a pathway to clear criminal records related to their victimization, this bill acknowledges the trauma and the systemic barriers that can prevent survivors from rebuilding their lives. Having a criminal record due to coerced activities can haunt survivors, limiting their ability to find housing, employment, and even participate in community activities. With this bill advancing, there's real potential for systemic change, aligning federal law with the precedents set by 48 states. We are thankful for the organizations who have tirelessly championed this cause, highlighting the importance of comprehensive legislation that offers genuine relief and a new beginning for survivors. This development is a testament to the advocacy efforts and, most importantly, the voices of survivors who have shared their stories and pushed for this change. #traverseproject #survivorreliefact

The Four Ps of Counter Human Trafficking are: Prevention, Protection, Prosecution and Partnership... and REHOPEorg and MPI Kansas City partner to bring awareness to the community and provide services to survivors.

A big piece of this has been the partnership we have formed with REHOPEorg, a local organization that provides housing and a recovery program for survivors of sex trafficking in the Greater Kansas City Area. Recently, MPI KC and ReHope were chosen by Baron Cares to be featured on WDAF-TV FOX4 to share about our partnership and work we are doing around Human Trafficking. We are excited to share this news segment and hope that we can continue to bring awareness, education and resources to our industry to help fight this horrific crime. We will be sharing more information about our work and have also recently started an Anti Human Trafficking Committee. Thank you George Commons at The Barnabas Group Kansas City, and Rodney Hammer & Jason Alvis & Roxie Loyd at REHOPEorg, for dreaming of big ways to serve survivors, and walking this journey for the last year and a half to make this collaborative project a reality. Thank you to Amanda Paletz & Nate Knapper at The Joseph Project for all your amazing work on behalf of survivors, and for jumping into this collaboration with both feet. Thank you to Sarah Jones & Scot Fishman & Corrine Paschal at Shook, Hardy & Bacon L.L.P. for being so receptive to this collaboration and pulling things together so quickly. This initiative is a collaboration between MSB Law (Morefield Speicher Bachman, LC), The Barnabas Group KC, The Joseph Project, and Shook Hardy & Bacon to provide an organized and streamlined system for women survivors of human sex trafficking to obtain full expungements of their Missouri criminal convictions caused by their enslavement and forced criminality.
