ReImagine Appalachia
Non-profit Organization Management
Coming together to reimagine a 21st century economy for the Ohio Valley
About us
We are a broad and inclusive coalition of individuals and organizations based in Appalachia. Reimagine Appalachia was born out of a broad recognition that the economy has not been working for most people and places in the Ohio River Valley. In response, a diverse set of economic, environmental and community leaders, and grassroots organizations, came together to find common ground and build the future we want to see—a 21st century economy that’s good for workers, communities, and the environment.

We recently sat down with Danielle Crumrine, Executive Director of Tree Pittsburgh, where she shared all about her love of trees and what it was like to grow up as the granddaughter of coal miners. She also spoke about the incredible opportunity Tree Pittsburgh now has after receiving federal funding to expand Tree Pittsburgh’s services and plant more trees all across Pittsburgh. “We’re in between our industrial past and this transition away from fossil fuels now into a more sustainable future. I think we need to be very proud and ask, ‘How do we reimagine Pittsburgh without losing the past?’,” Danielle said. Watch Danielle’s story and learn how Tree Pittsburgh is using federal funding to enrich Pittsburgh’s tree canopy and the health of our communities in Allegheny County. #CIPPPA #PittsburghStrong #TreePittsburgh #CleanEnergyForTheWin #ActOnClimate #ReImagineAppalachia #Pennsylvania #Appalachia #InflationReductionAct #ClimateChange @Tree Pittsburgh @ReImagine Appalachia @Landforce @Student Conversation Association
