Frameworks, narratives, evidence to propel lasting changes in economic arrangements. Based at the Harvard Kennedy School

About us

We need frameworks, narratives, and evidence to animate and propel lasting changes in economic arrangements. The Reimagining the Economy project aims to reshape narratives about how we achieve inclusive prosperity. We are an economics-centered, but multidisciplinary initiative based at the Harvard Kennedy School. The project explores local labor market, industrial, and development policies, combined with practitioner insights, to piece together a range of ideas, disciplinary thinking, and perspectives to produce scholarship. Our ultimate goal is to go beyond the analysis of how our current economy works (or doesn’t) to piece together new structures, governance mechanisms, and forms of market economy and capitalism. The Reimagining the Economy project is housed at the Malcolm Wiener Center for Social Policy at the Harvard Kennedy School. We also work closely with the Center for International Development and the Taubman Center for State and Local Government. Leadership Team: Gordon Hanson, Faculty Co-Director Dani Rodrik, Faculty Co-Director Rohan Sandhu, Co-Founder & Associate Director
