The Port Engineer will oversee the material condition of fleet’s equipment and machinery.   • We Are Hiring: Looking for Chief Engineers to add to our crew. Responsibilities: Monitoring the performance of the tugboat’s machinery and systems, including engines, pumps, valves, and electrical systems. Escalate any abnormalities or malfunctions of equipment to the M & R team including Port Engineering. Manage all machinery and equipment by following established procedures and safety protocols. This includes starting and stopping engines, operating pumps, valves, and adjusting controls as needed. Special projects, provide upgrades and modifications to the tugboat’s machinery and systems as needed   Qualifications & Experience: Bachelor’s degree from an accredited maritime college/institution preferred plus a minimum 5 years of experience as Chief Engineer role on similar vessels. Proven track record of success managing engineering teams and maintaining vessel systems. Possess a valid USCG engineers license appropriately endorsed for the HP of the vessel in National or Oceans service, with appropriate HP. Must have MMC, a valid TWIC card issued by the TSA, and all other pertinent training required by the USCG regulations and international conventions. Engineers must meet all SOLAS requirements or agree to obtain the proper SOLAS documentation. Strong knowledge of maritime safety regulations and standards.
