We are proud to introduce our next Hispanic Heritage Month spotlight, Marilyn Dominguez! Joining Remington in 2021, Marilyn serves as our Human Resources Director at the Hilton Tampa Airport Westshore. With over 30 years of experience in hospitality specifically in human resources, Marilyn brings a level of expertise and knowledge to our team that is critical to the overall success of the property. We are fortunate to have her on our team and look forward to her continued positive impact at Remington. 🎉 What connects you to your Hispanic heritage? Being Hispanic has profoundly influenced my identity and worldview. My close-knit family, frequent gatherings, and rich Hispanic traditions have shaped my upbringing. Some of my favorite Hispanic celebrations include Noche Buena (Christmas Eve), Año Viejo (New Year's Eve), Los Reyes Magos (Three Kings' Day), Fiestas Patronales, and Quinceañeros. 🏩 What was your first role in hospitality and what positions have you held prior to your current role? I began my career in hospitality selling tours in Puerto Rico, where I was assigned to partner with several hotels. I was later hired as a Reservations Manager at one of the hotels I had partnered with. After moving to Florida, I gained experience in various hotel roles, including front desk agent, accounts payable, and ultimately Human Resources, where I discovered my true professional passion. 📝 What advice would you give to someone who aspires to be like you? To be an effective leader, you must be a willing, accepting, and teachable person. Leadership goes beyond simply achieving tasks, it involves the art of accomplishing goals through collaboration and guiding your team. 💙 How has Remington supported your career growth? Remington fosters a culture of continuous learning and provides resources that support career advancement, creating endless possibilities for growth and development within the organization. #HispanicHeritageMonth #RemingtonHospitality #roomtothrive

It is an honor to recognize our next Hispanic Heritage Month associate spotlight, Richard Garcia! Joining Remington in 2021, Richard has been instrumental in leading our beverage & food teams and introducing new and immersive dining experiences only found at Remington-managed properties.   Today, Richard serves as our Divisional Vice President of Operations in the Caribbean & Latin America. His Hispanic upbringing has had a significant impact on his career journey and has shaped who he is today.   🎉What connects you to your Hispanic heritage? Born in Guatemala City, Guatemala, my connection to my Hispanic heritage is deeply rooted in the cultural traditions passed down through generations. Celebrating major cultural holidays like Holy Week with my family highlights the richness of our customs and the importance of community. Speaking Spanish every day also connects me to my heritage, serving as a link to my ancestors and a way to keep our traditions alive. The flavors in Hispanic food and recipes like tamales or arroz con frijoles, also play a significant role in keeping our culture alive. 🏩What was your first role in hospitality and what positions have you held prior to your current role? My first position in hospitality was as a dishwasher at a local restaurant in the Doral area of Miami. Since then, I have held every position in the kitchen from the dish pit to serving as the National Culinary Director for the largest food service company in the globe. I have been fortunate to hold senior executive positions including VP of Culinary and Senior Vice President of Beverage of Food Strategy. 📈What advice would you give to someone who aspires to be like you? Hands down, the number one trait to master is the art of communication. It is essential for leading effectively and building strong, collaborative teams. Be resilient. As challenges and setbacks are inevitable, it’s your ability to bounce back that will define your success. Stay humble and committed to continuous learning. No matter how much you achieve, there is always more to discover and improve upon. Whether mentoring others and sharing your experiences or serving in your community, always find a way to give of your time, energy, and resources.   💙What does Remington mean to you? Remington means a great deal to me because they recognized my potential and believed in my abilities even when I didn’t initially meet all the qualifications for my current role. Their trust was rooted in my previous experience with the organization. Remington has empowered me to grow, develop new skills, and take on greater responsibilities. This opportunity has not only advanced my career but has also deepened my loyalty and commitment to contributing to our company’s success. #HispanicHeritageMonth #RemingtonHospitality #roomtothrive
