Here’s how to follow up without crossing into “too much” territory! 👇 1. Timing Is Everything Give it 1–2 business days before reaching out. This shows you’re interested without coming across as impatient. If they gave you a specific timeline during the interview, make sure to wait until that time frame passes before following up. 2. Personalize Your Message Your follow-up shouldn’t be a generic, one-size-fits-all email. Mention specific things that came up during the interview, and reiterate why you’re excited about the role and the company. Keep it short and focused, though! 3. Add Value Use this as an opportunity to show that you’re still thinking about the role and how you can contribute. If you’ve come across any new insights or have ideas related to the interview discussion, feel free to mention them in a concise, relevant way. 4. Avoid Over-Communication It’s tempting to follow up frequently, but try to hold off. Sending one solid, personalized follow-up is usually enough.     🌍 At Remotive, we’ve embraced a fully asynchronous work model—and it’s been a game-changer for our team culture and performance. Over the last decade, we’ve learned that optimizing remote work requires more than just great tools; it’s about finding the right people and creating an environment where they can thrive. 👨💻 We don’t do weekly meetings. In fact, 90% of our communication happens via email, Slack, or asynchronous videos. Why? Because we believe in giving our team the freedom to work when and where they’re most productive. But that freedom requires hiring people who fit our culture—and we test this through a trial period that lasts between six weeks and three months. 🔧 One method that’s worked well for us is gathering feedback on internal tools. Recently, we had team members record their workflows so our CTO could spot inefficiencies and suggest improvements. This not only reduced frustration with repetitive tasks but gave employees more time to focus on what truly matters—creative work and client interactions. For us, it’s not about the hours you put in, but the results you deliver. ✈️ That said, while async work is efficient, we recognize the value of face-to-face connections. Every so often, we gather our team in a central location—like when we flew everyone to Split, Croatia.
