We offer the opportunity to participate in clinical research by managing scientifically feasible/ethical clinical trials

About us

Renal Disease Research Institute (RDRI) is an affiliate of Dallas Nephrology Associates (DNA). Our mission is to offer individuals the opportunity to participate in clinical research by managing scientifically feasible and ethical clinical trials. Every day, millions of people participate in clinical research studies as volunteers. All of the medicine that you, your friends, and your loved ones take – or have ever taken – is available to you because of a clinical research study! Clinical research studies are necessary to prove that a medicine or treatment is both safe and effective. Clinical research studies could not occur without people who are willing to participate. There is no substitution for volunteers who participate in these studies. They provide invaluable information and help assist physicians in attaining medical breakthroughs.

  • Clinical trials offer a unique opportunity for eligible volunteers to play an active role in their healthcare. Participants can access new treatments before they're widely available and contribute to advancing medical research. However, it's important to be aware of the potential risks, including time commitments, the possibility that the treatment may not work, and the chance of experiencing serious side effects. Always consult with healthcare professionals to understand both the benefits and risks involved. #ClinicalTrials #MedicalResearch #Healthcare

  • WHAT HAPPENS WHEN YOU VOLUNTEER? Thinking about joining our study? Here's what to expect: 1. The RDRI research team will talk to you about the study. You will be asked to sign a consent and will be given a copy. The consent form explains why the study is being done and what the study involves (including the chance of receiving a placebo). A placebo is a pill that does not contain active medicine. The consent form also explains possible side effects and how data collected about you will be used. 2. If you agree to join the study, a screening visit occurs. At the screening visit, the research team collects your medical history, and lab tests are performed. The information collected will determine if you can join the study. 3. If you join the study, the RDRI research doctor will begin closely monitoring your health. You will attend study visits at the clinic for physical exams and lab tests. You will also be asked to report side effects or changes to your health. 4. You will continue to see your own doctor for your routine healthcare. At your request, test results will be shared with your doctor.
